Alcantara Vineyards is a dream venture created by Barbara and husband Bob...

Alcantara Vineyards is a dream venture created by Barbara and husband Bob to provide their family and partners the opportunity to live the dream of growing a vineyard community and winery. It was in cultivating the vineyards and embracing the land that Barbara and her family soon realized there was a bigger picture in this hidden treasure along the confluence of two rivers. You’ll find Alcantara Vineyards has over 13,000 vines and offers 12 different varietals. While you sip wine and enjoy our peaceful surroundings, which include vineyards, a grass picnic area, the Verde River and bald eagles flying overhead, you’ll find you are part of our community and family.

We had tasted Alcantara wines at the Wednesday Wineaux happy hour at Sound Bites in Sedona and particularly loved the Confluence and Grand Rouge reds. Decided to drive to Cottonwood to visit the vineyards and it was definitely worth the short drive. We arrived in time to enjoy an early lunch of delicious cheeses and olives in front of a... More

This Vineyard was the first of 4, on our Wine Tour for the day. The drive up to the vineyard was lovely and we highly anticipated a great time. We walking in the winery and were accosted by the most unfriendly and rude woman I can remember in a long time. She is the manager of the tasting room and... More

Alcantara is off Rt 260 between Cottonwood and I-17, but there is no sign on the road. Needs a nice big Alcantara sign! Most of their wines are from their own grapes and the vines surround the tasting room in beautiful terraces stepped up the hillside. As with most AZ wines the old country verietals are producing the best wines.... More

This was our first stop of the day, and while the setting was quite pretty, and the owner gracious, the rest of the staff seemed disinterested. The wine is fine, and the fees are reasonable, though, so go and make the best of the gorgeous location.

Second visit to the winery. Everyone is nice and friendly. The wines are good and they have a big variety to meet most palates. We also became wine club members on our 1st visit and this trip was the 1st pickup. We were able to switch out wines from the pickup we wanted to.

We are quite the connoisseurs when it comes to reds. The Grand Rouge VI is simply the best wine that either of us has ever had. We did a tasting at a local wine store and were sold immediately. The only regret we have is not buying more to keep in the cellar !

After buying a bottle of their Confluence wine at a Sedona Restaurant, we decided to go directly to the winery to purchase a couple of their wine glasses to take back home. Well, we discovered a marvelous setting in the valley and a beautiful yard behind the chateau and tasting room. So we did the tasting and discovered another wine... More
