Description: Alcantara Vineyards is a dream venture created by Barbara and husband Bob...
Alcantara Vineyards is a dream venture created by Barbara and husband Bob to provide their family and partners the opportunity to live the dream of growing a vineyard community and winery. It was in cultivating the vineyards and embracing the land that Barbara and her family soon realized there was a bigger picture in this hidden treasure along the confluence of two rivers. You’ll find Alcantara Vineyards has over 13,000 vines and offers 12 different varietals. While you sip wine and enjoy our peaceful surroundings, which include vineyards, a grass picnic area, the Verde River and bald eagles flying overhead, you’ll find you are part of our community and family.

When me and my buddy pulled up , I noticed a big fat brown dog pissing on the vines . I had to use the restroom when I got there , to my surprise there wasn't any water pressure coming from the faucet when I tried to wash my hands, water just trickling out. It took a long time to... More

My wife and I were visiting Sedona area wineries and found this wonderful place. The tasting room is the owner's former farmhouse, but don't think it's some old rustic place...it's a beautiful home with spectacular views. We sampled some wine and settled on a bottle of their Merlot Rose and drank it in what was once the backyard, but is... More

I LOVE this place! Barbara Pridemore and her staff are living their dreams of the perfect place to grow and produce wine, have guests, have events and weddings, and eventually a bed and breakfast, a housing development in the vines, an expanded tasting room and wine production facilities, and much more. Barbara works to involve others in her dreams and... More

The tasting experience was excellent. IT's a scenic location, with a large, tastefully furnished tasting area. Though a busy weekend day, it was well-staffed. All the staff were friendly. Two gave good advice toward directing my tasting. Cheese trays were available for purchase. You keep the glass. Now my advice. Try at least one of their estate single-varietals like the... More

This starts out with about an hour long kayak trip on the Verde River and ends at the Alcantara Vineyards for wine tasting. The kayaking was very enjoyable even with the adventure tour being shorthanded, the truck breaking down and one guest needing assistance. Once back at the winery though, we were completely ignored. We waited nearly 15 minutes to... More

Out of the way location, but that was part of the charm. The woman that served us was friendly and made me feel at home. Many choices of whites and reds to suit various tastes. Also food choices sounded good, but we didn't want to ruin our dinner plans so opted for a small bread/olive platter. Came with olive oil... More

It is about average as vineyards and wine tastings are concerned, but very special as to location, ambiance and, views. It is an oasis in the desert landscape, with tables scattered about the grounds, so that everyone there had privacy. We had a taste of 5 wines and a platter of cheeses - very nice. That afternoon a talented singer... More

Very nice winery near Cottonwood. Nice selection of wine, loved the 2013 Moscato. Nice food selection, yummy cheese plates. Part of the Verde Valley Wine Trail.

This is one of those wineries that has an appeal that makes you want to stay awhile and enjoy the flights slowly. Nice appetizers if you want something to munch on either inside or outside at tables on the deck or in the yard. Dog friendly (they have one who will come by and say hello). We

This was the first winery that we had ever been to. The staff wasn't overly friendly. The grounds were absolutely beautiful. This was part of a package for us with a kayak trip or we probably wouldn't have stopped here. They definitely needed a couple of people helping customers, but only had one person so there was a long wait... More
