Went on the one hour ride with my two daughters; great experience. The horses were made for the trails; started and stopped with the rest of the team, and they did not wander from the trail, as we've experienced on other rides. Just north of the Stables/Ranch are hiking trailheads. A gravel road fit for a SUV leads past Spur Cross Ranch to another parking lot. Paths are rocky, so wear good hiking shoes and bring along hiking sticks, if you have them. Drinking water essential. Hats recommended. Dogs are allowed. Good signage. Our kids' (8 and 10) first time on a horse so they recommended we only do the 1 hour ride. The scenery was beautiful - on some parts just cactus and mountains as far as the eye could see.
