I planned our whole Alaskan vacation around going to AnAn Creek. We were not disappointed. There were both black and brown bears. Bears with cubs. Eagles everywhere. We went there with Alaska Waters and James the driver of the boat was also our guide. He was terrific. A very nice and knowledgeable young man. The hike in to the observatory... More

Thrill to see brown and black bears in the wild. Best to go with a guide as bears do cross path. Path very easy.

Bears ... black and brown. Great to watch them in action. Thank you to Sylvia and team from Alaska Vistas for a wonderful day. Informative, entertaining and wonderful hospitality en route, before and afterwards. Highly recommended for an Anan Creek Bear trip!

Thank-you to Slyvia and her team at Alaska Vistas for a wonderful day visiting the AnAn creek bear observatory. We were a party of 10 -extended family and friends including teenagers. Alaska Vistas collected us from our accomodation, organised a stop off at the local supermarket for us to get lunch items as we had arrived too late the night... More

Loved, loved, loved our visit to Anan! Bears, salmon, eagles, knowledgeable Forest Service workers: what else could you ask for? So much fun, and so interesting! Just wish we could have stayed a couple of hours more. Just FYI, if you are a real bear enthusiast, check into renting the Forest Service cabin on the property. It's rustic, no electricity,... More

Anan Bear Observatory is an amazing, once in a lifetime experience. The eagles swooping, the salmon run swimming upstream, the nice hike into the large deck, the photo box on the stream, the bear milling about...it's all just incredible. Visit Breakawayadventures.com or get ahold of Captain Eric and his staff, who can set up your trip of all trips. Be... More

We were in Alaska on a cruise and decided to try and see some bears (long before we left). I began planning about 6 months in advance which is not too early to if you want to see Anan Creek Observatory because you need passes to get in. We used Family Air Charter www.familyairtours.com and Dave was great. He was... More

If you have never seen bears eating salmon and you like crowds of people this is for you. If you like natural bears acting in a natural way without the stress of people and other bears killing the cubs then look someplace else. Just to see bears go to Neets Bay. To observe bears and have a good time look... More

We visited this fantastic place in July, 2013. It didn't take long to see several bears and a few cubs. One bear climbed a tree for a nap. Another settled in close to the observatory deck while having his lunch. This is a place to definitely go again. It was a bit pricey, but as the forest service only allows... More
