Description: Phillips Cruises and Tours has been providing Prince William Sound glacier...
Phillips Cruises and Tours has been providing Prince William Sound glacier cruises with visitors from around the world since the 1950's. We are a favorite activity for locals to share with their visiting friends and relatives. Our "No Seasickness Guarantee", complimentary hot lunch and customized narration are just a few of the many reason why Phillips Cruises and Tours is the leader in glacier cruising in Alaska. Every journey into Prince William Sound is unforgettable. The 26 Glacier Cruise travels 140-miles in 5-hours retracing the path of early explores John Muir and William Dall who were among the elite community of scientists, artists, photographers and naturalists who explored this area on the Harriman Expedition in 1899. Their discoveries were recorded in several sizable volumes of discoveries. Many of the animals we see were named after explorers on the Harriman Expedition; Dall porpoise, Dall sheep and more. The Captain will set a course that travels through the serenity of Esther Passage and continues into narrow glacier carved fjords. There will be plenty of time to view the majestic alpine and tidewater glaciers of College and Harriman Fjord while traveling in luxurious comfort aboard the M/V Klondike Express, the fastest catamaran in Alaska. This state of the art vessel was built specifically for cruising in Alaska. Our double-plated bow provides a safe and stable cruise as we nudge our way past ice bergs that drift in front of the massive glaciers anchoring the end of the fjords with deep blue crevasses of towering ice. Our high speed catamaran is propelled with two diesel engines that drive water jets, each pumping 165,000 gallons of water per minute with an average cruising speed of 32 knots, allowing us to glide effortlessly through Prince William Sound. If you prefer a shorter cruise, the Glacier Quest Cruise travels into magnificent Blackstone Bay, home to seven glaciers and Yosemite-scale waterfalls. Several terminal moraines are present in this region marking the retreat and advancement of the glaciers over time. Keep an eye on the navigation monitors on the vessel and you'll see how the sea floor shifts from 20 feet in depth to over 1100 feet in a short distance. Waterfalls line the rocky walls of Blackstone Bay with ribbons of shimmering cascades of glacier melt off trailing from 3,000 foot mountain peaks into the sea. Dense spruce forests line the shoreline down to craggy rock outcroppings which are some of our favorite places to spot the wildlife. During your cruise, keep an eye out for playful sea otters, harbor seals, kittiwakes, bears, whales or mountain goats. We also see a number of other birds, bald eagles, Dall's porpoise, Steller sea lions and more! Both cruises include: - a complimentary hot lunch - narration by a U.S. Forest Service Ranger - reserved indoor seating - full-service bar and snacks for purchase - restroom equipped - Our exclusive no seasickness guarantee. We operate daily tour May through September and our vessels are available for private charters in the morning and evening. Full day charter options are also available.

I'm shopping for a place to take a sight seeing tour this summer and the web site is fantastic. Who would have thought that you can get Google Maps to come and take photos of the inside of your boats. It's quite ingenious. Anyway, if the thought and attention to detail that they put into their web page is anything... More

This attraction is everything advertised. For a few hours you ride on a clean, modern, stable sizeable boat that takes you past 26 glaciers. Along the way an interpretive guide adds information to what you are seeing. While the boat moves along, you never feel rushed. The captain stops to see seals or sea lions sunning along the shore, or... More

If you only have one day to spend in Alaska take advantage of a glacier cruise. Very inexpensive. The meal they serve is actually good. Great wildlife viewing (otters, walrus, whales, eagles, etc) and calving glaciers. I have taken this tour 3 times and enjoyed it every time. The biggest disappointment is that each time it is more noticable how... More

Dear Kim, Thank you for posting a review on TripAdvisor.com and cruising with us 3 times so far. We are also disappointed to see some of the glaciers receding, but we still marvel at the outstanding beauty of Prince William Sound. Please come back again and try our Glacier Quest Cruise into Blackstone Bay too. Safe Travels! More

We fortunately hit perfect weather for our cruise. Saw lots of wildlife and the scenery was phenomenal. Great staff and informative presentations by well educated Rangers. Don't miss this trip!

I have had the privilege of going on this trip two different times, the second time was almost exactly one year later. The weather couldn't have been more different the first time it was one of the most beautiful days Whittier experiences a year and the second was a typical day with clouds and rain, but honestly they were both... Dear Janel G, Thank you for posting a review on TripAdvisor.com. The glaciers are the main attraction and you're right, the sound of glacier ice moving is very cool, especially when a piece of ice calves into the water with a thunderous crash. Hope to see you on the cruise a thrid time. Safe travels! More

My wife and I took this 26 Glacier Cruise and enjoyed it very much. Along with the booking came lunch of either fish or chicken. My wife chose the chicken strips and I chose the fish. Both were fried and barely edible. We would have been better off if the ticket office in downtown Anchorage had warned about the food... More

We booked a glacier tour back in September and had a truly memorable experience. From beginning to end, the crew was professional and knowledgeable. The boat was amazing, clean, spacious, and had several locations to view from. I thought that was really nice because you didn't feel like you were being squished with other viewers. We brought our two boys... More

Best trip in Alaska! Great way to see glaciers up close. Plus you get a great lunch while riding in the smoothest riding ship ever. By far the best glacier and wildlife viewing in the State of Alaska.

This was a wonderful experience to see the glaciers and wildlife. Adding to the great experience was friendly and helpful crew, plus the forest ranger who shared many interesting facts. What an opportunity to visit a pristine destination.
