Description: Phillips Cruises and Tours, LLC has been providing Prince William Sound...
Phillips Cruises and Tours, LLC has been providing Prince William Sound glacier cruises with visitors from around the world since the 1950's. Our 2015 season starts on May 8th with the 26 Glacier Cruise and on May 15th with the Glacier Quest Cruise. We are a favorite activity for locals to share with their visiting friends and relatives. Our "No Seasickness Guarantee", complimentary hot lunch and customized narration are just a few of the many reason why Phillips Cruises and Tours is the leader in glacier cruising in Alaska. Every journey into Prince William Sound is unforgettable. The 26 Glacier Cruise travels 140-miles in 5-hours retracing the path of early explores John Muir and William Dall who were among the elite community of scientists, artists, photographers and naturalists who explored this area on the Harriman Expedition in 1899. Their discoveries were recorded in several sizable volumes of discoveries. Many of the animals we see were named after explorers on the Harriman Expedition; Dall porpoise, Dall sheep and more. The Captain will set a course that travels through the serenity of Esther Passage and continues into narrow glacier carved fjords. There will be plenty of time to view the majestic alpine and tidewater glaciers of College and Harriman Fjord while traveling in luxurious comfort aboard the M/V Klondike Express, the fastest catamaran in Alaska. This state of the art vessel was built specifically for cruising in Alaska. Our double-plated bow provides a safe and stable cruise as we nudge our way past ice bergs that drift in front of the massive glaciers anchoring the end of the fjords with deep blue crevasses of towering ice. Our high speed catamaran is propelled with two diesel engines that drive water jets, each pumping 165,000 gallons of water per minute with an average cruising speed of 32 knots, allowing us to glide effortlessly through Prince William Sound. If you prefer a shorter cruise, the Glacier Quest Cruise travels into magnificent Blackstone Bay, home to seven glaciers and Yosemite-scale waterfalls. Several terminal moraines are present in this region marking the retreat and advancement of the glaciers over time. Keep an eye on the navigation monitors on the vessel and you'll see how the sea floor shifts from 20 feet in depth to over 1100 feet in a short distance. Waterfalls line the rocky walls of Blackstone Bay with ribbons of shimmering cascades of glacier melt off trailing from 3,000 foot mountain peaks into the sea. Dense spruce forests line the shoreline down to craggy rock outcroppings which are some of our favorite places to spot the wildlife. During your cruise, keep an eye out for playful sea otters, harbor seals, kittiwakes, bears, whales or mountain goats. We also see a number of other birds, bald eagles, Dall's porpoise, Steller sea lions and more! Both cruises include: - a complimentary hot lunch - narration by a U.S. Forest Service Ranger - reserved indoor seating - full-service bar and snacks for purchase - restroom equipped - Our exclusive no seasickness guarantee. We operate daily tour May through September and our vessels are available for private charters in the morning and evening. Full day charter options are also available.

Fast, quiet, comfortable ride. They stop at assigned points and next to anything interesting that passengers would point at. We stopped to observe a whale on the way back. More time is given to two glaciers, ship is very close to glacier edge and water is full of small and big pieces of ice. We saw some calving and marine... More

As a local I go almost every year, so I'm a frequent flyer with them. This is the number one thing we do with anyone who visits us in the Anchorage area. Excellent vessel fast 35kts and very stable since it is a catamaran design. The Glacier views are some of the best in Alaska. Some glacier views are long... More

Amazing cruise to go on. It's a 5 hr cruise from Whittier. We took the Glacial discovery train from Anchorage, which is a 3hr train ride. The cruise was amazing. Lots of Glacier, many birds, few otters and seals and a humpack !!

My wife and I were thrilled with this tour. They run a very fun and informative cruise. Whales were just showing up in the sound so they became a part of the tour and the hundreds of sea otters were fantastic.

It was a pure joy to ride on the Glacier Quest on May 21. The views of the glaciers, waterfalls, and wildlife were spectacular! We were actually able to see significant calving of a glacier - even the crew got excited! It was well worth the money!

This is our favorite trip in Alaska to see glaciers, seals, whales, otters and what ever pops up during a visit. Phillips has their trip down to a science with great service, scenery to die for and a great meal while you enjoy the beauty of Alaska

We did yesterday the 26 Glacier cruise. It was an unforgettable experience, the boat just glides at 35 kts over the water, the glacier views are just amazing and the captain Cody, spoke only when there was something to see but took his time to show all animals and glaciers without any time pressure. In other boats, you are bombarded... More

Wow x 26 = A trip of pure bliss! A well done tour by the whole crew. The nature speaks for itself in its magnificence. The crew and captains amazing, always looking for the next best piece of wild life to spot for all of us to enjoy! We were blessed to see the first hump back of the season... More

Locals will not be disappointed. I've lived in Anchorage for 10 years hearing the song on the radio, but never going on the cruise. We decided to go and experience something the 'tourists rave about.' Very friendly staff and spectacular views. We even saw a 5 story glacier calving. Lots of otters, sea lions, and birds. Even spotted a goat.... More

Went on the 5hr 26 glaciers tour on the Kodiak yesterday. I was concerned that 5hrs would be way too long, that I should bring cards or a book to keep me busy. I maybe looked at my book for 5 minutes. The ride was smooth and the scenery so beautiful that it captivated my attention during the whole trip.... More
