Choose between the 5.25 hour Surprise Glacier Cruise and the 4.5 hour Blackstone Glacier Cruise. All trips are hosted by a Chugach National Forest Ranger. At the glaciers you'll often witness calving - a process by which glaciers shed giant blocks of ancient ice. Marine Tours helps you get up close and personal with the glaciers. The trick here is to catch sight of a glacier calving( a multi ton piece breaks off, falls in the water, and becomes an iceberg brings you close to the glacier, provides an excellent lunch, and enables you to switch from inside to outside whenever you wish. I drove to Whittier by the car through the tunnel and parked little bit far from the boat for $7. The boat was older, but well mainlined. There was about 40 tourist only because of the end of the season and rainy weather. I enjoyed staying outside, because the deck was covered all around. the captain took us to 2... More

This tour was just right. It must be spectacular in the high season with blue skies and abundant wildlife… But we visited at the end of the season when its cold and raining and the wildlife has migrated….lol The waters are very calm a pleasant change for our wild ride a couple days prior. This tour was a bit shorter... More

Prince William sound despite the heavy rain was beautiful. the cruise was well hosted. We did not partake of the foodservice but brought our own lunches. The glaciers and waterfall were spectacular but the wildlife sightings were extraordinary. Orca's in Prince William sound, porpoises playing on our port side and the American Bald Eagle made the trip worthwhile.

It was a rainy, chilly day that I took the tour, and since it was almost the end of the season, the boat was not crowded at all. You are assigned a table upon boarding, but that was for the buffet. You were free to move around to see the sights at any time. We saw the glaciers up close,... More

This is a great way to get up close to the tidewater glaciers! Doesn't matter which option you choose, they're all beautiful and the cruise is a great opportunity to see marine wildlife. I was totally surprised to see Dall's porpoise and orcas right out of Whittier! I've done two cruises with these guys and their crews have been super... More

I took their 5 hours cruise to Blackstone glacier and it was a very pleasant experience. We saw lots of wildlife such as seals, eagles and sea otters. We passed numerous glaciers, all of which were beautiful. For those that have never seen a tidal glacier before, this is a great chance to get up close. I felt like the... More

Whittier is a peaceful place to take the tour from. We had an Excellent captain and park ranger, with their experience and efforts they spotted several things that we would have missed. We saw humpback whales, sea otters, sea lions, bald eagles. We saw more glaciers than we had expected. We saw Surprise glacier up close, we were hoping to... More
