Description: Major Marine Tours offers two thrilling day cruises into Prince William...
Major Marine Tours offers two thrilling day cruises into Prince William Sound, and the grandeur of its ever-changing glaciers. Choose between the 5.25 hour Surprise Glacier Cruise and the 4.5 hour Blackstone Glacier Cruise. All trips are hosted by a Chugach National Forest Ranger. At the glaciers you'll often witness calving - a process by which glaciers shed giant blocks of ancient ice. This area is also home to a wide variety of animals including sea lions, seals, sea otters, and mountain goats; as well as an abundance of bird rookeries with many species including eagles and kittywakes. You can enhance your experience with our Alaska salmon and prime rib buffet, freshly prepared on board the vessel. All guests are guaranteed reserved seating inside our heated cabins.

Wonderful

a trip to Whittier and this tour is a must on your itinerary. The tunnel to get into Whittier is cool, and the sound is fabulous. The meal onboard is worth it. Very delicious.

We did the Blackstone Bay Glacier Cruise prior to boarding our cruise ship. We had Captain Morgan and he was awesome! He got up close to the rookery, waterfalls and glaciers. We were in awe from the time the cruise started until we returned. It was a very cold rainy day, but we still enjoyed going up to the top... More

We enjoyed this tour. The staff was friendly and courteous. The food was excellent (buffet style) and really enjoyed seeing the Glaciers and the whales. Trip was about 5.5 hours. Would recommend layer dressing. When we started it was 80 degrees and lots of people wore shorts. It got cold quickly and we wished we had brought more warm layers.

Its a well organized cruise tour. Catamaran ship was a good size one without any turbulence. There are good size glaciers to see and admire, not much wildlife though. Tour of the Salmon hatchery was a waste of time. Our experience was slightly clouded due to the fact that we did the Kenai Fjords tour a day before with Major... More

I convinced my husband to do a Glacier cruise with me for Father's Day. All I can say is that it exceeded both our expectations!!! It was amazing!!! The crew was fantastic, friendly, and knowledgeable. The view of the glaciers is surreal. A picture doesn't do justice to the beauty and the feel of the glaciers. Also, it doesn't capture... More

Unusually great weather and a courteous crew who knew in advance what we needed to see. Captain delayed return to port to follow a humpback whale.

Major Marine was excellent. I like the smaller tour boat. The ability to get close to the glaciers was appreciated and the flexibility to stay with whales added to the experience. The guide from the Forest Service was outstanding and truly enriched the quality of the trip setting Major Marine Tours apart.

Check their websites for specials, the train ride combo was a good deal! The train ride was narrated well and was a good length, I think the Seward package would have been too long for our kids. (3&7) People said the prince William Sound had better glacier viewings than Kenai. I would agree with the few I saw on the... More

The tour captain says we are in the brochure day, e.g. good weather, seeing lots of animals, and glaciers. We saw whale, dolphins like Dall's porpoises, sea lions, eagles, jumping fish, etc Also importantly, we saw/hear several glacier's calvings. We are lucky with such a good weather. My kids love this tour.

I took this trip on 1st June and I loved it. For a very reasonable price you get a five hour trip to see the amazing Surprise Glacier which is breathtaking and the staff stay there a long time for photos etc then you pass whales and sea otters etc and you are given plenty of time for photos and...
