Saturday August 29th my husband, me and my Grandma loaded into the car and drove to Whitter Alaska. On the way we stopped on the side of the road, along with quite a few other cars to take some pictures of Beluga Whales in the Turnagain Arm waters. Then we continued to the Whittier Tunnel, a 2.2 mile tunnel that... more

We went on this tour before we boarded a Princess cruise. We got to Whitter and had nothing to do until we were able to get on the ship so we went on a 6 hour tour with Prince William Sound Cruises. What a great time we had! We saw plently of wildlife for this area, sea otters, sea lions... more

We took this excursion following our cruise, and it was well worth it. We were fortunate enough to have a sunny, warm day for the trip. We were able to see some wildlife, including sea birds, Bald Eagles, porpoises, a couple whales, lots of sea otters, some seals, and lots of salmon. On top of the wildlife, we were able... more

There was little to... more

I took this tour, by luck, on one of the most beautiful days in the summer. The trip started with a bus picking us up at our hotel in Anchorage. The drive to Whittier was about 1.5 hours. We stopped at a scenic area on Turnagain Arm and then again at a rest stop for a bathroom break. The driver... more

We went on the Prince William Sound Glacier Adventure cruise using our Alaskan Toursaver, and were regrettably disappointed. Wished we had paid more to go on the other cruises (Major Marine or other one). We saw that their boats were much nicer, and got much closer to the glaciers. Our boat was old, stinky of fuel, noisy with the rumbling... more

I took several glacier tours in June 2008 from Whittier, Seward and Valdez and they were all good. So if you have to pick one, don't worry too much and take the one most convenient to you/your itinerary. What you really need is good weather i.e. no rain. This is something no tour company can control. I took Prince William... more
