They are not the oldest or the largest dive center in Rangiroa...just the best. If you have read my past reviews then you know I have known Katy and Marco since before they opened Yaka Plongee. In my opinion they have the best team around. Their captains, Alexi and Benoit, know their jobs and are very reliable. In addition to... More

Yaka would be my gateway to the sea in Rangiroa. VERY friendly team. Very relaxing and passionate about diving. Thank you Katy and Thomas for the great diving and showing me the dolphins of Rangiroa

I went scuba diving in Rangiroa with Y AKA Plongee for the first time in my life and I am glad that I kept such an experience for this special place. It was just the guide and myself in the sea, no other people around us and it was just beautiful. Thomas, the guide, showed his patience and professionalism working... More

Small boat, small but professional, passionate and dedicated team, friendly welcome, take their time and very very shortly, you feel as if you have been diving with Kathy and Marco for years. Marvelous dives, many thanks to them!

Don't be fooled by the lack of showrooms, big buildings or lots of boats and guys hanging around. Y AKA (the name is a play on words in French) is a great reason to come to Rangiroa. If you want to dive to see sharks, dolphins, rays, eels, etc. in a relaxed but professional setting this is the place. Yes... More

Katy and Marco, the co-owners, and all the staff of Yaka are extremely friendly. They are also very helpful and very professional. They dive from two zodiacs and the groups are always small. They go where the divers want and time their dives according to the current in the passes. From speaking to people who dived with Top Dive, the... More

I'm an advanced padi diver. Yaka plongee met my needs exactly and gave me a perfect introduction to the taputa pass and to the undersea canyons. Katy, dive master and owner of the center is extremely caring and considerate, picking us up from our boat and offering coffee tea and sliced coconut during the dive briefing. There were all levels... More

Once again my wife and I dove with Y AKA plongee. It was great to see JM has joined the YAKA team and that Thomas was back. We had about a week of diving this year. Visibility was excellent 3 or 4 days. On at least one drift you could see both sides of the pass. This year we saw... More

Y AKA plongee is a perfect dive center. We are advanced PADI, there were all levels diving with the center when I was there, from CMAS 3 to first dive baptism. They organise themselves so that different levels dive with different dive masters. The dive monitors are extremely professional. They are flexible, and try their very best to make your... More

Katy and Marco are just the best. Kind, patient, generous with time and advice and assistance - you could not ask for more. And Alexi and the other boat captain were fabulous also. My favorite divemaster was Thomas P - he pointed out so many animals and really was relaxed. Of course, I had figured out the solution to clearing... More
