I'm an advanced padi diver. Yaka plongee met my needs exactly and gave me a perfect introduction to the taputa pass and to the undersea canyons. Katy, dive master and owner of the center is extremely caring and considerate, picking us up from our boat and offering coffee tea and sliced coconut during the dive briefing. There were all levels... More

Once again my wife and I dove with Y AKA plongee. It was great to see JM has joined the YAKA team and that Thomas was back. We had about a week of diving this year. Visibility was excellent 3 or 4 days. On at least one drift you could see both sides of the pass. This year we saw... More

Y AKA plongee is a perfect dive center. We are advanced PADI, there were all levels diving with the center when I was there, from CMAS 3 to first dive baptism. They organise themselves so that different levels dive with different dive masters. The dive monitors are extremely professional. They are flexible, and try their very best to make your... More

Katy and Marco are just the best. Kind, patient, generous with time and advice and assistance - you could not ask for more. And Alexi and the other boat captain were fabulous also. My favorite divemaster was Thomas P - he pointed out so many animals and really was relaxed. Of course, I had figured out the solution to clearing... More

I have know Katy and Marco since 2006, when Katy was freelancing as an instructor. They opened their own shop a couple of years ago, and it is great. Very personal service with a relaxed atmosphere. NO rush, rush. They are located close to the Kia Ora. Katy and Marco are very experienced and safe, and their boat captain, Alexi,... More

I didn't have any experience in diving before Yaka. My wife and I stayed at the Kia Ora right down the street which has a Top Dive facility attached but I'm very glad we went with Yaka. I felt we got personal attention from all the members and therefore continued to get PADI certified. Katy made me feel so comfortable... More

Went there in November 2012. We did about 7 dives with Yaka Plongee and were delighted. Great small groups, great atmosphere, very safe and very friendly. The club is close to the best diving spots and we saw sharks, turtles, dolphins, rays, etc. One of our friends was doing an introduction to scuba diving and really enjoyed it too so... More

5min in boat from Tiputa, Y AKA was recommended to me by locals that I have met on other islands, and I had the best dives of my life!!! Meeting turtles, sharks (inc. hammerhead sharks) and DOLPHINS (see pics). The centre is much smaller that the others and offers same comfort and security, but with a lot less divers. It... More

We did nearly 10 dive session there and each one was awesome and new. We played with dolphins, we saw turtles, sharks, etc. everyday. It's a small diving center, perfect to learn and to become a good diver. Instructors are very qualified and friendly. Y AKA plongee on Rangiroa is where I got certified to dive. It is a small dive shop two houses down from another popular dive center, TOP DIVE. Each morning when we headed out, I couldn't help but think how great it was to be at Y AKA and not next door. Y AKA's size and staff is what separates... More
