This place is absolutely a MUST DO if you are anywhere near Taha'a or Raiatea, French Polynesia. The clarity of the water, the abundance of sealife, the quality and colors of the coral and the ease of access are all so far beyond normal expectations, it's almost surreal. I have no idea about the accommodations at the Le Taha'a, as... More

One of the most stunning underwater scenes I've ever seen. My wife and I have snorkeled all over the world, and this tops our list. A stunning array of sea life, including more fish species that I can count, sharks, manta rays and turtles. Just amazing.

This is truly a spectacular place to see so many varieties of fish and sea life. But to some extent it is being over-loved. The boats bring in the hordes of people, drop their ropes and anchors on the coral, and then the snorkelers crowd all over the place, touching and even standing on the coral. I fear all this... This excursion that we took to see the coral gardens was absolutely fantastic. Never before have I seen such a spectacular view.

If you're staying on the Sofitel Private Island, no need to take a tour. This is right in your backyard. I guess the corals are bleached, but there are tons of fish & so much variety. If you bring some bread, all the fish will gather around you. It's pretty fun. I think most snorkeling tours make a stop at... More

This "garden" is reached by boat and is among the best snorkeling on the island. Be certain to wear your water - reef shoes and take your underwater camera to capture this spectacular garden's array of colorful fish and coral. The emerald water is so clear with so many species of vibrant - seemingly electric colored fish that the pictures... More

This is a must. There were so many different types of fish to see. Make sure you have a underwater/waterproof camera because you definitely want to take pictures.

We came to Coral Gardens as part of Lagoon Tour with Lagoon Service. It was our third snorkeling stop that day. We were swimming with sting rays first and after with sharks. The last stop was Coral Gardens. Water above coral garden was blue, even on rainy cloudy day, water color was beautiful. You can see change in color on... More

The lagoon around Bora Bora has many areas for snorkeling. The Coral Gardens have lots of patches of coral and lots of fish of different types swimming around. The water is not deep and one can stand in places (be carefully not to step on the coral or on stonefish). There are also areas to see sting rays (they are... More
