We have snorkelled in many different parts of the world and none blew me away like the Coral Gardens in Bora Bora. It was beautiful and the fish where amazing. Bright, colourful and plentiful. We stopped here whilst on a Shark & Stingray tour which was organised by our travel agent, Pacific for Less. This was a complementary trip from... More

If you had fish food, the amount of fish that would surround you is unreal... and the visibility in the water is SUPER. If you have an underwater camera, this is the place to use it.

the coral gardens are not the best coral and fish I've seen (the lots of Butterfly fish) but was still worth seeing make sure you have some food to feed the fish, I find it very frustrating to see people standing on the coral and some of the tour guides tell you to if you get tired not a good... This wasn't the best off-the-beach snorkeling we've ever done, we liked Hawaii and Turks & Caicos better for example, but this was the best in Bora Bora. It's a large area, I'd guess maybe 1 acre, and a depth of about 10-15yds at the most. There were always thousands of colorful fish around, but nothing we hadn't seen before. Excursions... More

Not bad, however, go to the Virgin Islands for the best diving in the world. Closer to the USA as well

It was our third stop on a snorkeling tour. The current was quite strong. I'm an experienced snorkeler and it still dashed me into an outcropping of coral, which left me with a deep scratch on my leg. Not too much color other than some bright electric blue and very little of that. Lots of colorful fish, though.

Some of the best snorkeling I have ever done in my life!!! The smartest thing to do if you are interested in this site is to stay at the Sofitel Private Island (NOT the mainland hotel), and the coral gardens are right off the side of the little private island. Every morning after breakfast my husband and I grabbed a... More

Nice to get away from the hotel onto a boat and see some fish and coral - really glad we did it. Definitely worthwhile.

This is one of the best spot for snorkeling while in Bora Bora. In most cases you will need to join a tour to be able to get there or rent a small boat or Kayak is even possible (with caution of the current). While there, enjoy the different variety of fish and the crystal clear water. Be mindful that... More

The snorkeling was great! However, what helped was that our guide had some fish food. I recommend the services of Edouard who works for Patrick Tours. Their website is www.maohinui.net. They offered a price that was a third of the hotel's and were pleasant to work with. Edouard was very helpful with my 10 year old son.
