Had a lovely afternoon on Matira beach, nice area for shallow water snorkeling and when the rain came on we sat in the bar which was perfect with a great view of the sea.

Having arrived in Bora Bora on a cruise ship around noon, just wanted to relax and enjoy the beauty. Took jeep taxi holding 6-8 people for the 10 minute ride ($5) to the public Matira Beach opposite the entrance of the Intercontinental. Very warm and calm waters and able to walk at least a half mile out without the water... More

This speech, which is close to Bloody Mary's, was very beautiful. It is the only public beach in Bora-Bora. There is not much see life to see if you snorkel but the waters are clear and the sand is white. If you're looking for just the beach, this is a decent place. It is not a motu, it is in... More

We spent some time wandering along the beach, and it is very beautiful. Not too crowded as we expected it would be since it is a public beach.

It is warm, but there is little or no sea life or fish, aside from some Rays, so not a good place to snorkel. Trees provide shade on the beach and incredibly beautiful view, but not... More

What a beautiful public beach! I stopped off to swim at this beach during my scooter ride around the island. Very relaxing. Glad I was able to stop.

The beach is swallow, warm and calm so even those who don't care for swimming in the ocean will enjoy. It is very salty as well as protected by the reef. We used the Public access next to the intercontinentaL Bora Bora. There are outside showers and shelter but not a lot of grassy area. Quite a lot of coral in... More

Not the most beautiful beach I've ever seen, but crystal clear warm water that was unique and gorgeous! The sand was not the powdery talcum sand I was hoping for but worth a swim!
