Go to Matira Beach to watch the sunset, the views are amazing! If you're staying at Intercontinental Le Moana, Matira Beach is walking distance. It's a public beach so there's lots of locals, but everyone is friendly and being on the beach is simply amazing!

What a surprise to find these small, reasonabley priced eateries, with delicious food. Snack Matira is located on the best beach on Bora Bora. I never got tired of their fresh fish sandwich. I could eat one every day.

After an amazing snorkeling adventure, we wanted to experience a beach. We inquired about the various resorts on Bora Bora, but they were charging too much money to visit their resort/beach. Instead, we went to Matira Beach by taking the van/bus which departs from the main dock, near the information center. It was $5 (polynesian francs) - per person. There... More

A public beach where native Polynesians go. We were there on a Saturday and enjoyed watching kayak races between various teams, including those representing resorts and clubs. It's a long but easy swim to the left to reach Matira Point and the shallows leading out to the reef.

As sushi fans, we loved the very fresh, very flavorful Nigiri the chef served. It was so good, we returned for lunch the next afternoon, and ordered the exact same items.

The beach is beautiful and easily accessible. From what we were told, this is one of the only places on the island where you can watch the entire sunset because it is not blocked by any other land masses. We arrived just in time for sunset, and we were not disappointed. It was well worth the trip!

Right on the Lagoon, this is a romantic setting. We had one of the best Poisson Cru in the islands to start, I had a wonderful duck breast and my wife had Tuna. Both cooked perfectly medium rare. The wine list was pricy, we had a simple Macon Village for Puligny Montrachet prices but Bore Bora is not cheap. All... More

The beach is long and clean, Several quite serviceable snack shops. The waters are shallow and there are not many people there. We were told the rays come there in the early morning. Picture perfect
