There are not so many tourists which made it so much better. No Problem finding a nice spot. The sea is so warm and clear and with the numerous Tropical fish... well.

This is a public beach, running from the Hotel Bora Bora to Matira Point, so there were beach goers when I strolled along the white sand in the morning. And when I later came to watch the spectacular sunset, I had plenty of company. The beaches at both ends of Matira Beach are privately owned. The sand here is white.... More

Matira Beach is the nicest beach on Bora-Bora main-island with fine sands and clear water - wear reef-shoes!

We chose to stay at the Inter Continental Le Moana because of the location right across from Matira Beach. We walked over in the mornings to eat breakfast so that we could see the gorgeous views of the beach. Watched local family activities that made it very interesting. Sat in the evenings to see the fabulous sunsets! Would definitely choose... More

very nice stretch of beaches with restaurants. snacks. On the third day we were there, a family of Chinese Polynesians living on the sea shore lent us a kayak to row around. The Polynesian people are very friendly, fundamentally happy and good hearted

Matira beach is open for public visitation, what is not comum in Polinesia. BTW, is one of the most beautiful beach, and you can enjoy 2 smals restaurantes to eat just in front of the beach. I decide for Snack Otoamana, and was delicious.

We did a little day trip to Matira beach during our stay in bb. The water is really beautiful there and it's shallow enough to walk out a couple hundred feet. The sand is very coarse and covered with crushed coral pieces and rocks so be sure to bring shoes. The cab driver that took us to Matira said there... More

The sunsets on this very calm, serene, lake-like beach are stunning! Although the public uses this beach during the day, there are not many people around at night, and the photo ops are great.
