The epitome of Bora Bora, although can get crowded when cruise ships are in. Easy entrance into the calm warm waters. Nice eateries right on beach

At the cruise tender dock in Bora Bora you can get a small truck to drive you to Matira Beach for $5. It is about a 15 minute drive. The truck will also drop you off at Bloody Mary's which is before the beach. They run all day. It is way to far to walk to either place from the... More

This beach is so beautiful! It was not crowded and you can walk so far out into the lagoon. The water was warm and beautiful!

Matira Beach is so beautiful that you have to pinch yourself to check if you are dreaming! It is not a very large beach and lots of people gather here for sunset. The water is crystal clear. It is so pretty that you feel like you are staring at a post card!

We have been staying in Bora Bora for two weeks. As we are staying on the main island we have rented a car and visited Matira Beach on several occasions. It is the only public beach on Bora Bora and it is stunningly gorgeous. When the sun hits the water it is pure bliss. The multiple and varied shades of... More

Bora Bora's best beach has dazzling white coral sand and beautiful clear shallow water. You can wade out some distance from the beach, but there are currents at the reef. The beach isn't shaded. This is a beautiful place.

While staying at the St. Regis, we took the shuttle boat over to Viatape and then a bus to the beach. They were all at no charge. The beach was beautiful, with shallow water you could wade out in for quite a distance. It looked alot like an infinity pool. There were outside showers and a bath house. However, there... More

Water was beautiful.....lots of current if you are trying to snorkel. Stay on the paths otherwise you will get covered in little burs....Weekends are busy as all the locals usually are out....lay your towel in a sandy spot under a tree.
