It is very difficult. Do not try it after three days of almost no sleep. We did it with no rain and I would not want to attempt it in the rain.

I did the trek in one day also.Im not that fit and even started two hours late because of a delayed booking. We made it up and back in eight hours, 1 hour to camp 1, two hours more to camp 2, lunch for 30 mins and then an hour to the top. After the top returned to camp 2 and...

I did this as a one day hike. In hindsight I think the cost was too much considering the guide really doesn’t do any guiding. But since I was alone they said it cost more. The trail is clearly marked and I really think you could just take a taxi up to the start, get your permit, and go on...

It was cold and uncomfortable during the night. We were in a rush and we were not prepared for being tired, hungry, and cold. Mittens, scarfs, hats, ear warmers, thermals, socks and all that good stuff....

Bring your own sleeping bag (we went in winter and it...

In Jan 2012, my wife and I paid USD40 each to the snobbish short lady manager from Queen Hotel after checking several hotels and tour agencies for the price for private tour. It seems that it may save time haggling by just quoting the standard price you want, and that they will let you know if they can meet it...

We booked our climb up Fansipan with our hotel. She assured us that $70 was the going rate, anywhere you asked. We looked around, and sure enough all we were told is $70. We booked it for New Years Day. Strange as it was, our tour guide Sun, didn't pick us up from our hotel until 9:30am. We thought this...
