This is an easy, if a little steep, walk from Sa Pa. The views are good if you are lucky with the weather. The village itself is little more than a series of stalls. The real village must be hidden away, but there are locals with their goats and buffalo a plenty. The entrance fee includes a performance of dance... More

good if you only have limited time and don't want to trek for for long. I still recommend to visit more off beaten villages. It will provide you more opportunity to oserve the real way of life and breathtaking views. More

Was a great walk down the hill and loved the waterfall at the bottom. I decided to get a motorbike back to town, lots of fun. More

We didn't enjoy Cat Cat Village at all. At least the part we saw. To begin with, it is completely full of shops! They are all selling local handcrafted bags, wall hangings etc..the same things you'll have already seen all over Sa Pa village. "You buy something from me?"...that is the only conversation you'll get from the locals in that... More

Great to see people & things there. But the village is a bit touristy. You should buy some candies to give the kids there. They will ask for it alot. If you haven't been there you should visit it. More

The trek is about 4 km and takes about 2 to 3 hours. Interesting sights and views along the way. It's a little steep but rewarding. The Cat Cat waterfall is beautiful and there is a cultural show on when we were there. The only things to note are, there are many shops along the way and the shop keepers... More

I was informed that a private company had 'invested' in Cat Cat Village by paying for some infrastructure to and in the village i.e. road for vehicles, path for tourists in the village and organising collection of entrance fees to the village i.e 40,000 dong. Apparently, my informant added that the village 'benefitted' from the sales its few shops made... More

The village is an easy, pleasant, mainly downhill walk from Sapa, less than 30 minutes, with some steep steps. Stalls along the way, sell usual knick knacks that one can get anywhere in Vietnam. We did the "stream trek" behind the waterfall as well. The view here is not as nice as the Lao Chai/Ta Phin trek, but still pretty... More
