If you find yourself stuck in Tianjin for business and the weather is nice, coming here and relaxing is one of the better things to do in the city. Very green in spring/summer. Since there are young people, you might even be able to strike up a conversation with some strangers in English.

Founded since 1919, Nankai University has experience the second world war and one old building Singyuan Tang remained from the bombs can reveal the past profile of Tianjin in 1930. With two lakes, and a river in it, it is beautiful in four seasons.

It is just a university campus, no signage or information, so not of much interest other than a stroll around the lake in Summer - it is decidedly grim in winter. There is actually a fair bit of history about the university, however it is not so easy to dig up. Best find a knowledgeable local to guide you if... More

Went to the University for a walk and some photoshoot. The unviersity is huge, spaceious and has plenty of greenery, you can enjoy the tranquil environment, eg.. no car horning non stop in the street. You can have a good meal in their canteen. Plenty of varierties. There is an internal shuttle bus that bring your from the east gate... More

This is a functional utility of the city and nothing more. The campus is average at best and does not compare with other international university campuses. You will see most of the favorable ratings are students themselves at the campus or visiting students at the campus and not really tourists. To come to China and make this a stop on... More

It is well located and have a good environment for students. Beside Tianjin University and plenty of good restaurants around, such Alibaba, Top Cafe, Helen, Aulare, Cozy, ... It worth a visit and chat with some students willing to learn English as exchange for teaching you Chinese.

Beautiful place but quite boring. What else can you do here besides taking photos and walking around? I mean, this place is good if you just walk by and stop for a quick visit, but don’t plan the whole trip to visit it. Does not worth all the efforts.
