This is one those places where nothing seems to be a good idea. We wanted to take our 3 yr old son there to do something that a 3 yr old could enjoy on an Alaskan trip. They have a large gift store (surprise!) where everything has unreasonable prices. Santa Claus is supposed to be there all year round so... More

We wanted to go to see the North Pole. It was pretty much a tourist trap. All the Christmas fare and a little more. 100% a tourist trap.

If you made it as far as Fairbanks than you should stop by this tiny town and visit Santa Claus House. Especially if you have kids. Will put you in Christmas mood instantly. It's a gift shop where you can take picture with Santa ( alive ) and buy some souvenirs. I wouldn't make a trip only for this place... More

Wonderful Santa talked to everyone young and young at heart. Not only would he allow pictures with seniors but even asked us to take a video for a special person. Staff friendly and went out of their way to help.

So many of these type of attractions are filled with very cheesy items, not so here. Good mix of items, locally produced, great merchandising, and good quality.

Figured we stop in since we went north to Fairbanks anyway. It is basically a giant junk shop. Kind of like the Christmas store that pops up during the holiday season. Also Santa is apparently off Sunday and Monday, so if you wanna see the big guy don't come then.

This is the place in North Pole to get that perfect gift for the friend in the lower 48. The fudge and coffee will keep you coming back. I challenge you to find a tree decorative that you can find anywhere else. From clothing to fine arts.... you can't go wrong. Who doesn't like Santa?!

From the reviews I knew not to get my girls too excited and only prepared them to possibly see Santa. Luckily he was there and he was nice. He asked questions to my oldest and she was excited to answer. He also was friendly with my little one who was very shy. The rest of the place is a huge... More

If in the area, you need to stop at the Santa Claus House. They even have a Santa sitting and you can take your photo with him. The store is full of decorations and clothing - no cheap, but available. They offer a mailing service where Santa sends letters to kids - again not cheap, but a letter from Santa... More

On a recent trip to visit my Nephew in Fairbanks, I was surprised to discover North Pole was the suburb where he lives. Imagine my delight when I found that Santa was here in July! (he does take Sunday and Monday off this time of year), but his happy workers staffed his store front (I believe the elves and the... More
