It really helped that we had perfect, sunny weather .... beautiful views including whale watching from the shore; WW2 history. Good, easy hikes

This is a very nicely-laid-out park, with lots of room to hike without the bother of vehicles. The campsites seem very sweet, though I visited in January and would not have wanted to pitch a tent then. The promontory with the giant artillery mechanisms is arresting. You can imagine the thoughts of the men and women stationed here in WWII,... More

enjoyed seeing the WWII generator station and what was left of the gun. Seeing the moss trees up close. Picking salmon berries and trying them.

This state park is a gem. Miles of great trails for hiking, a nice stocked lake, fabulous ocean views from countless scenic overlooks, good beach access, historic WW2 bunkers, and camping. Old growth forests draped with moss give Fort Abercrombie a unique atmosphere. Don't miss this place if you visit Kodiak.

Some of the best views of the island. I enjoyed walking along their trails and seeing the remnants of the WWII fort. They could use a better mapping system but getting lost was half the fun. If you cannot handle being lost, I suggest you download their online maps because the maps at the park are useless. Overall I had... More

Beautiful state park! The trees and forest is kul, views of the ocean are excellent, and the old WWII history is pretty neat. Visited in the off season when all of the tourist stuff was closed, but still could walk around in the park and camp and all kinds of fun stuff! We had some spare time waiting for our... More

So much WWII history in a beautiful park setting with hiking trails and informative exhibits. Spent most of a morning there, but missed museum because of Labor Day holiday.

Visit the area that was once a fort in WW II. The museum was closed when we were there and not sure if it's still open. A very nice area for a picnic or hike through the woods.

It is possible to camp in this beautiful park near the town of Kodiak and enjoy the forest, the lake, and the seaside. A nice visitor's center... Just don't belive what what they tell : There ARE bears in Fort Abercrombie like everywhere else in Kodiak, take care!
