This is absolutely a must if you are in the area. You can see it by float plane or boat. It is our second largest wilderness area in the US. Waterfalls and steep fjords are throughout the area

We booked our seaplane tour of Misty Fjords through NCL Sun. The seaplane is the only way I would want to experience the beauty of this National Forest! The views are breath-taking, the pilots are awesome - extremely knowledgable with a love for what they do. We landed on one if the most peaceful lakes in the world! BTW, this... More

We took Alaska Seaplane Tours and thoroughly enjoyed our trip. Our pilot was a local and familiar with all the different stories. The scenery was spectacular. We saw a mother bear and her two cubs. The sea plane landings were exciting in and of themselves. This was a very pricey experience, but it was a once in a lifetime adventure,... More

We were on the Star Princess in August 2014. We went on the Misty Fjords Wilderness Cruise and Floatplane excursion. The guides were delightful and informative. However, the description of the excursion is a bit misleading...the trip is essentially a cruise at high speed through the Fjords. The goal was to get to the float plane as fast as possible.... More

We were on the NCL Jewel. The shore excursion was entitled. "Misty Fjords & Wilderness Explorer". It was a short walk from the ship. The boat was nice, along with seating there was upper deck seating and plenty of deck space, The crew was very friendly and enthusiastic. We especially enjoyed Mia. The views and landscapes are wonderful. The thing... More

We just returned from a cruise that stopped in Ketchikan. Our cruise went through Tracy Arm on it's way to Juneau after leaving Ketchikan. Had I been aware of how terrific our trip through Tracy Arm would be, I never would have booked the excursion through Misty Fjords. We experienced Tracy Arm from the balcony of our cabin, had breakfast... More

We took a day excursion from Ketchikan while cruising with Princess. Cannot begin to describe the spectacular views in the National Monument. We were blessed with decent weather so the mountain tops and fjord walls were all easily visible. The narration on the tour was extremely informative. Were also able to see several bald eagles and harbor seals. One of... More

Our one adventure in Ketchikan was taking a floatplane to Misty Fjords. We flew with Promech Air, and were in great hands with Eric Cullis, the pilot. We were blessed with clear weather. We could see crowds of salmon swimming up the Ketchikan Narrows, then forested islands, and finally the steep-sided mountains that slip to the water, almost straight down...it... More

By far, our most thrilling excursion was the Misty Fjord Seaplane tour arranged by the most charming family in Ketchican. Lesley was a joy to work with. We requested flying with her husband, Steve, and we were thrilled and honored to have him pilot our plane thru the most breathtaking sights of the Fjord. We saw goats and a bear... More

We boarded our sightseeing boat at the same pier where the Crown Princess was docked in Ketchikan. On our way out of the harbor, the crew pointed out some eagles on islands and trees along the way. We also saw harbor seals sunning themselves on rocks and sand spits. A few spouts of humpback spray were seen and we watched... More
