We were fortunate to visit in a small catamaran with three dozen passengers (Alaskan Dream Cruises - 9-day cruise very strongly recommended) in August. The cat can go where most boats can't, and is both fast and relatively quiet, so we we able to get close to wildlife such as bald eagles and harbour seals. The scenery is wild and... More

As far as natural beauty is concerned, this is at the top of my list of experiences. We were visiting friends and had a chance to take a look around this area via their boat. The scenery was absolutely breathtaking. We also had the chance to witness a bear, killer whales and seals in the wild. This is an absolutely... More

We came in on the Volendam (cruise ship) and enjoyed the sidetrip to Misty Fjords on the Wilderness Explorer. We were lucky - the weather was lovely, no rain and not really misty at all! Crew was great and onboard naturalist very informative. Did you know someone went out to the monument to get married, forgot to check the tides,... More

Beautiful area. Took Allen Marine tour. So much to see. Must see area when visiting Alaska. What you come to Alaska to see. Tour boat was comfortable and provided an excellent commentary for the trip. Can never go wrong with an Allen Marine Tour

We have taken a floatplane flight to Misty Fjords National Monument twice and have not been disappointed either time - it is worth it! The floatplane glides across the water and we soar about 1,000 feet above the land and seascape. We see lots of waterfalls cascading hundreds of feet down mountain sides, a virgin forest, deep lakes loaded with... More

I was on a cruise ship Misty Fjords by seaplane excursion. Even though the price scares people, it is worth every cent. The view is magnificent (I took around 200 photos that flight). Combined with the music they play and the narration by the pilot and in the recording, it feels like you are in a Discovery Channel or National... More

After our helicopter trip to Herbert Glacier in Juneau the previous day, this was the icing on the cake. Our Seawind Aviation flight through and down into the Misty Fjords far surpassed our greatest expectations. Organisation was outstanding, scenery mind blowing, pilot awesome. He landed on a lake after buzzing a brown bear for close ups. Pulled up his fish... More

This was our first floatplane flight ever and after we missed out in Juneau on the glacier floatplane flight because of bad weather, we were so happy that it was a sunny day!!No misty fjords for us but instead sunny fjords! I think any of these flights over the breathtaking terrain that is Alaska is worth it,even if its expensive.Save... More

We took the MIsty Fjords Explorer. As always, the guides were excellent, the views were beautiful. We saw bald eagles, orca whales, harbor seals and their pups and even our first bear of the whole trip. The scenery was great. The only reason I wouldn't give it 5 stars was the cost and the fact there was a lot of boat... More
