Come aboard the "Aleutian Ballad" crabbing vessel as seen on season 2 of the Discovery Channel's "Deadliest Catch". Depart Ketchikan Alaska for a 3 hour trip to catch king crab, snow crab, octopus, fish, prawns and more. This tour also features some of the best eagle viewing on the planet. Share the allure and adventure that draw fishermen to the sea. Fishing legends that have worked the Bering Sea are your guides, some you may have seen on TV. The vessel has been retrofitted for guests comfort and fun, with a "live" tank on deck to allow for closer viewing of the wondrous creatures brought on board. Guests stay warm, dry and comfortable while we sail calm and protected waters. This is the REAL ALASKA and you won't want to miss it!

If you want to see hundreds of eagles, crabs, octopus, crawfish and learn lots about commercial fishing, this is the tour for you. The crew was so entertaining that the hours flew by. Our family of seven thoroughly enjoyed this trip. The captains were so entertaining and the wildlife was truly spectacular. The entire crew did an excellent job combining history, geography, and biology into much more than a sightseeing tour. The views of the bald eagles worse truly stunning

This was the best tour we took on our whole three week Alaska trip. These guys made it really fun as they told great stories and demonstrated catching crab and fish. We were able to see several types of crab, fish, prawns and even octopus up close and personal. We even went to a spot where we were able to... More

My husband and I celebrated our 15 yr Anniversary on a cruise to Alaska in June. I booked all of our excursions and the one I was most excited about was this one!! I am a huge Deadliest Catch fan so there was no question if I was going to enjoy my few hours experiencing the life of real crabbers.... More

What an amazing trip with a former Bering Sea Crab Fishing Vessel! We were on business in Ketchikan and decided to go on this trip, as we've all seen and are fans of Deadliest Catch. The stories, demonstrations, all very informing, fun and interactive! On top of this all we've spotted dozens of bold eagles, this excursion beats all others!

The tour started the night before we got onboard the Ballard. We had the pleasure of dinning with Capt. Derrick as he told us about the tour for the next day on the BALLARD. We had scheduled another tour, but after our dinner with Derrick and later going to his presentation to all interested parties on board, we went directly... More
