Seeing the Nugget falls from distant was no enough so we decided to do one mile hike to the falls. We had beautiful weather and fun walking through mud and little flood to reach there. It was well worth it. Great view to try out your photographic skills.

We loved the little track to the falls and since it gives you more view points to the glacier, it makes this place real fun.

If you are heading to Mendenhall glacier, there is a path that runs about two miles round trip to the falls beside the glacier. You can't see it from the viewing point but the path brings you to the bottom the falls and you can even walk over and step into the cold water run off. The walk isn't hard... More

Granted I felt like we were never going to make it the trail took much longer then we thought but once we got there it was amazing you could have jumped in the water and touched the falls which were nice sized not to big but not to small combined with getting to see Mendenhall glacier right behind them it... We walked a trail that took us to the base of the waterfall. A wonderful picture opportunity. The trail was well groomed and a nice walk. It was about a mile walk to the falls from where our bus dropped us off. I was so close to the falls I got wet! Amazing! I was not expecting such a beautiful... More

The walk to Nugget Falls is worth the view and a great photo opportunity. The rushing water is just beautiful.

Our helicopter tour and trek were cancelled because of the weather so we decided to explore the galcier on our own. Took the bus from downtown to the visitor's center. Take time to explore the center because it is very informative especially the time lapse video of the glacier. The hike to the falls is easy even in the rain,... More

Easy walk to the falls. Very scenic even with the huge crowd of tourists around. If you can I would avoid going when all the cruise ships are in the port on Tuesdays.

Do not expect a peaceful hike; the trail and falls themselves are ridiculously crowded. Try to go EARLY!

If you go to the visitor's center you must walk to the falls. It's a short walk and well worth it. Take comfy shoes and maybe an umbrella...don't forget your camera!
