The trail out to the falls was closed due to flooding but we hiked out nugget creek trail and spelunked out to the falls anyway. It is a difficult hike starting from east glacier loop trail out to nugget creek and then off trick to the falls but it was beyond worth it! We were definitely tired at the end... More

The views from the Mendenhall Visitors Center trails reveal great views of this excellent example of a glacial waterfall.

Nugget Falls is a must do if you have the mobility to walk a mile. I took my time and spent 20 minutes walking to the falls. While there I brought a little tarp so I could sit without getting wet and just enjoy the majesty of these falls. It is very peaceful and is well worth the time to... More

An easy walk to a roaring water fall near the face of the glacier. Nice parking lot and visitor center at no charge.

Round trip on Nugget Falls Trail is about 1.5 miles, it's a reasonably easy walk on a well maintained trail. The views from the beach near the falls and glacier face are totally worth it! I have a bad hip, and while I may have been slower than some, I found the trail well within my abilities.

Water gushing down so fast and so beautiful. I feel the icy water...wooooo ...so so very cold. The view here is so spectacular. We walked 45 minutes to see this gigantic waterfall. It was worth it. You can go closer to the waterfall and take really nice photos but just be careful and don't fall into the water. Can be... More

If you're fortunate the trail is open and you can take a sip of water right from the falls. On my second attempt I was fortunate to enjoy a gorgeous cold and sunny day with friends. We had fun climbing the rocks around the falls, walking into the water, and taking all sorts of silly pictures. Even amidst the fun,... More

You should see this if you are in Juneau along with the Mendenhall Glacier. There are plenty of options to get there. There are buses and taxis that take the quick 10 minute trip from the downtown area.

There is a mile or two of walking on level surface, but one is rewarded with a fantastic waterfall. Well worth the visit
