Panoramic and close up views. Great mile plus hike to falls and Mendenhall glacier. Beautiful outdoor experience.

Part and parcel of the Mendenhall Glacier visit. Again, quite accessible by bus or group transport from any part of town and a pretty easy walk down to views of the Falls and Glacier.

I took a walk out to Nugget Falls in mid November. The tourists were all gone (and the visitor center was closed). The occasional others out there were mostly locals walking their dogs. The weather was good - clear and chilly. I was told by one of the locals that if I had come in the spring either the place... More

This is a great hike my kids love to take. It's only about a mile long, well maintained trail. You can get right up next to the falls, and the views of the glacier close up are great as well.

Not a bad trek at all! Very powerful waterfall that makes the walk totally worth it. Near enough to the glacier viewing area so that you can fit both into even a short trip.

Do it. Gets you closer to the glacier, and the falls are very powerful and beautiful. Take shoes you don't mind getting dirty, a jacket, and a bear bell.

Walked here and hiked/ climbed a bit up the side of the waterfall! Great time, lots of fun! Really beautiful spot, and so worth going to.

The Nugget Falls path was easy to traverse, but found a branch-off, which was a little shorter, and afforded a good view of the falls and the glacier. The shorter path turned out to be a good option due to the limited time we were there. A ranger was available near the front of the glacier to answer questions (and... More

If possible, go to the Visitor Center in advance to get crowd information. With the ranger's advice, we were able to time our visit and walk to Nugget Falls alone. It was tranquil standing on the spit to take in the scenery (and take photos) without a crowd. Great view of Mendenhall Glacier, too. The walk itself was easy and... More

This trail is an easy walk and well worth the time. The trail takes you right up to the falls and enables you to be closer to the Mendenhall Glacier.
