Nice walk to Nugget Falls and close view of Mendenhall Glacier. Trail was well maintained and it was easy to push a wheelchair most of the way. But on hills my wife had to walk. There was a rough part at the end where I had to carry the wheelchair. But it was worth it! Just over 90 minutes for... More

Take it all in at once. There is a one mile walk along a well maintained walking trail not designed for heals or strollers (although both were in view at our visit). Give your self an hour to stand at the base of this magnificent spectacle and take it all in.

The falls are great. The trail is steep for the first mile and flatlanders will find it real work. The trail continues past the falls and levels out not long after for those up for a nice day hike. If you want a hard day hike, Mount Juneau is an option.

If you’re going to go see Mendenhall Glacier—and you should—then you’ll also see Nugget Falls. We visited both as part of a shore excursion from the Sapphire Princess. I think seeing the falls is a nice “fringe benefit” of visiting the glacier, but I wouldn’t go too far out of my way to see just the falls. When you arrive... More

Caught the blue "ice cube bus" to the park. It starts service when the ships come in and runs every 30 minutes. The walk was relatively flat and the trails were well maintained. You get some sneak previews of both the falls and the glacier before you arrive. If you go early, you beat most of the tourists and have... More

Take the blue bus from town to Mendenhall Glacier which runs every 30 minutes. Make sure you make the short hike out to the Falls. Thats where you can really appreciate the pure amount of water rushing from the falls. Good idea to take some rain gear with you.

Easy hike. Don't miss it - awesome display of nature. Good for kids - can even push a stroller. 30 minutes roundtrip.

The walk to Nugget Falls was much easier than I thought it would be, and it is definitely worth it to feel the spray of the falls and experience the glacier from this vantage point. We had to miss the visitor center to take this hike, but it was worth it!

This is really more of a brisk walk than an actual hike. There wasn't any real climbing unless you wanted to explore the rocks around the falls. That being said, I would recommend this walk to anyone! It was beautiful - you also got much closer to the glacier. The falls are impressive - very high and lovely! We went... More

Some of our party walked through VERY cold water to get closer to the falls giving the visit an extra thrill. It's a nice hike from the visitor center.
