This trail is really well kept and a gorgeous rainforest walk. There will be Mosquitos though so bring bug juice.

The Herbert Glacier trail is one of the easiest to explore in Juneau! The trail is well maintained and relatively flat. It's a great walking or mountain biking trail through thick old growth forest, as you get closer to the glacier you can see a drastic change in the forest age! Once you get right alongside the river you have... More

Going back in the glacier was a wonderful experience. Amazing topography and photography options. Glacier footwear was provided. Don't forget sunglasses and rain gear. We booked through our cruise line, but it also possible to book directly with the helicopter company.

This hike is 4.9 miles in to the glacier with minimal incline. It's lush foliage and well kept trail makes for easy walking and great photos. My friends and I did this trail round trip in about 3 1/2 hours. We stopped frequently to take photos, so can be done quicker. The trail had several bikers and they enjoyed the... More

Our cruise ship, the Celebrity Millennium, was able to enter in to the Herbert Glacier with an experienced naturalist on board. He was provided an ongoing narrative of what was occurring before our very eyes. Citing his knowledge and experience, we witnessed the glacier at its peak performance. Fantastic time.

We got up to the glacier by helicopter from the airport...then we were introduced to the adorable huskies who pulled us all around the beautiful glacier then we met 2 4 week old husky puppies...this trip was the highlight of my holiday!

The four mile trail is great for a bike ride, hike or ski. The glacier at the end is just reward for your effort. The flats are perfect for a picnic or place to set up your tent before your trip back,

I took a helicopter to Taku Glacier for ice trekking. I hiked to Mendenhall Glacier. So, for Herbert Glacier I aimed to do something different; I biked the trail in order to make the most of my time out at the glacier. Herbert Glacier Trail is about 10 miles round trip, and easily ridden in 2 1/2 hrs as it... More

Coastal Helicopters took us & our guests to Herbert Glacier. The trip was amazing! The sights along the way were breathtaking & the glacier was more amazing than we had expected. We were lucky enough to be the only ones on the glacier. It was such a majestic place. Coastal Helicopters was very professional and customer service oriented. They were... More

Our helicopter pilot let us down here and we walked around, it was beautiful and peaceful. We were the only one for miles and the silence was both peaceful and eerie. It's a beautiful glacier and worth a trip.
