This is a very expensive activity. If you are in Alaska and want to splurge on 1 activity this is the one. We did the helicopter ride to Mendenhall Glacier and did the dog sledding. We were on this incredible glacier on a clear blue and sunny day. The kids played on the snow. We rode on a sled pulled... More

Be warned! It's extremely cold and windy on the glacier so dress accordingly. The information we received said to dress in layers, but it should have said dress for extremely cold weather. Wear a hat, gloves, and all weather coat. Pull your hair back into a ponytail if you have long hair, it will help when you put on your... More

This company is the real deal. From the beginning we were met at the tram by our wonderful driver Angel. She gave us a bunch of recommendations as to stores and things to check out after the tour. I loved having a true local experience with her. when we got to the temsco base, we were safety prepped and had... More

Now as much as I would have liked to complete a full review on this company for the service and great experience that I received, I can’t. We booked a Heli-hike and rail tour due to leave Skagway at 1100 hours. Unfortunately this was not possible due to the fog that was around on this day. This is not Temsco... More

Having traveled in my fair share of helicopters this was a ripoff with four passengers in the back seat. With four people wearing heavy jackets it is claustrophobic and difficult to see out through the curved windows.I could not take any decent photos. Landing on glacier in the rain did not help. The pilot was not too helpful. BAD experience and... More

We have just returned to the UK after cruising the Inside Passage from Vancouver to Juneau and back. A friend living on Vancouver Island recommended the trip up to the Mendenhall Glacier as something special ... And he was certainly not overstating things. The whole experience will stay with us for ever and was truly magical. After donning the studded... More

I've been on scenic helicopter flights before, but I have never had such a huge, magical experience. Our route took us over what seemed like an endless series of jagged peaks, deep valleys and, above all, those massive rivers of ice with slow-motion movement visible in their crevasses and deep-blue fractures. We landed on the Herbert Glacier, flew over mountain... More

We selected the pilot choice helicopter tour from Temsco. In Juneau, we went from the ship to the Temsco location where we were given a comprehensive safety brief, provided glacier boots (that fit over your shoes) and a life vest (in case of a water landing, your seat cushion CAN be used as a flotation device..). The weather was a... More

I'll admit, after kayaking in front of calving glaciers, I was a bit nervous at the prospect of landing on them. This evaporated as soon as I saw our pilot, Adam, land the helicopter with precision on its pad with the previous group. There were four of us with him on this flight, and we each had great views and... More
