Situated within the historic Alaska-Juneau Gold Mine District, your ascent to dog camp follows the original mining road through dense temperate rain forest. Once in camp, you will be exposed to the musher's way of life and introduced to their teammates, the famed dogs of Alaska's official state sport. When ready, your musher will hook up the dogs and you will be whisked away aboard one of our specially designed wheeled carts for a thrilling ride along the scenic trail. Followed with everyone's favorite, the puppies, Gold Rush Sled Dogs is ideal for groups and mushers of all ages. We look forward to seeing you this summer, happy tails! « less

GREAT tour. Matt's passion for his dogs and his sport was obvious. We learned so much about raising dogs and dog racing. We can't say enough about how great this tour was. Anytime you get to speak with someone who actually does the thing he's talking about you're a step ahead of the game.

As experienced Greyhound people from Australia, we were keen to see a working dog farm. My wife and I booked this tour outside the boat and it was a great call - we were the only two on this morning tour. Jeremy the dog handler gave a us a great time playing with the dogs, talking about training, feeding breeding... More

Our entire family including grandparents, adult children, teens & youngsters participated in this experience. It was fantastic! Matt's discussion of Iditarod racing was heartfelt & informative. The sled dogs at work, seeing the adult dogs as well as interacting directly with the puppies was such great fun for all age groups. A vivid look at a terrific Alaskan tradition. This... More

We booked this excursion outside of our cruise. They picked us up on time right by our boat. This was a truly enjoyable experience for our entire family. Tonya did a great job showing the dogs to our kids and gave a great tour.

We felt we got an all-around feel for dog sledding and all that it takes to get the dogs ready for the races and how the life is out on the trail. Seeing the dogs getting so excited about pulling was exciting for us. Our tour guide was Tonya Schlenther who gave us a great tour of the different aspects... More

We had booked dog sledding on glacier but fog too thick to helicopter to glacier. This was a great alternative. Our guide was Matthew Failor & his love for his dogs was evident & made our visit all the moe enjoyable. We learned something about what the mushers & their dogs have to do & Matthew taught us to admire... More

We booked through our cruise on Celebrity Century. We were supposed to do the Dog Sledding on Mendenhall Glacier via helicopter but it was cancelled due to bad weather, this was our second option and I'm definitely glad it was. It was a fantastic, fun and informative tour. It is great to see how much passion the guides have for... More

My family of six, 5 years old to 75 years old, had a blast on this tour. We love dogs and so do these guides. Dogs were a lot of fun and the scenery was beautiful. Had mini tour of old gold mining camp on the way up so it was a two for one tour. Kids loved it, grandparents... More

I must say as an animal advocate I was worried that I would see dogs that were not treated well and were just a way to make money. I did not see anything of the sort. Our guide Austin knew each dog personally and clearly loved them dearly. The dogs were well taken care and loved. They work hard but... More

The sled dog excursion was really interesting, loads of fun and, of course, a great way to see and interact with the dogs and puppies. The guides were very knowledgable and clearly love the dogs, who love them and truly love to run. An authentic and totally enjoyable excursion, even in the rain!
