Fun hiking to see the plants and shrubs and maybe even a bear!! The guides know all about the flora and fauna. Whales are also an added plus.

This company knows how to treat people. They were terrific. We had one of the best times of our lives. It was very personalized. The guide helped teach us how to really use our camera and we got some our best pictures ever. I have been on a few whale watching tours but none like this. The boat was fast... More

We took a Princess cruise, north from Vancouver to Whittier/Anchorage in October 2014. This was our first cruise (we have never been drawn to cruises). I have to say that our trip was just fabulous, even better than we dared hope, and one of our best experiences was the Mendenhall Glacier-Whale Photo Safari. This was a trip we will happily... More

This was by far the best trip excursion we took while on the Disney Wonder. Our time was very well spent with reviewing photo tips/techniques on the bus while travelling to the Medenhall Glacier Park. Our guide, Annie, let us know that our timing was "epic" -- we saw bear, salmon and found an out of the way trail to... More

This trip is designed specifically for photographers. It takes a maximum of 14 and the boat has windows that lift up and padding making it easy to get great pictures that are not ruined by being taken through glass. Our guide, Annie, was excellent, providing tips for photographers of all levels of experience and helping those less experienced set their... More

The guide was superb. My only complaint would be to speed up the land hike a bit. It was pretty much at a snail's pace. That would have allowed more time for the whale watching, which was really the most rewarding part of the excursion.

Being a photographer I was excited when I saw a photography excursion listed as an option on one of the Princess Cruise Line excursions. I understand that we were on a time schedule so was constantly playing 'catch up to the group' when we were hiking through the rain forest at Mendenhall Glacier park. It's hard to stop and get... We took a photo sightseeing tour with Gastineau Guiding company as a shore excursion option through our Regent Seven Seas cruise. We were immediately impressed with the friendliness and helpfulness of the entire staff and particularly our guide. The guide offered many helpful tips on photography and took us to excellent locations to apply what we learned. It was an... More

We booked the Whales and Trails shore excursion from our cruiseship, which was hosted by Gastineau Guiding Company and could not have been more pleased! We started with a whale watching cruise that far exceeded our expectations. We've done whale watching in California and Hawaii, but nothing compared to this trip. Our ship Captain was outstanding and had a knack... More

I took the tour from a excursion list on an Alaskan Cruise. I didn't know what to expect because I had never been there before. The tour was a photo adventure for the off road areas of Alaska. We were shown remote and beautiful wild areas that you would not see on the regular trips on the cruise agenda. The... More
