We toured the gardens in the golf cart (the only way). The young people driving the carts hurry through, and there is only one stop for pictures (at the top of the hill). We pulled into Glacier Gardens and saw all the upside down trees with flowers in them. They were beautiful. I first visted the Glacier Gardens in 1998. If you like botanical gardens even just a little bit, you'll love this place. It's a must see because no one else makes gardens this way. It's best to go on a good weather day, so you can get good photos. more

We were advised by 3 different sets of local residents to tour Glacier Gardens as an alternative to Mt Roberts Tramway. Boy, are we glad we took their advice. The concept of land reclamation is visionary, and the AmeriCorps volunteers who guide your tour and work the site are inspirational! more
