Went here as our initial excursion got cancelled due to rain/fog. VERY BEAUTIFUL flowers in the greenhouse & the umbrella trees were really neat. Lots of work put into this place with great little trams that take you thru the rainforest up to a beautiful viewpoint. Was VERY IMPRESSED! more

We toured the gardens in the golf cart (the only way). The young people driving the carts hurry through, and there is only one stop for pictures (at the top of the hill). Yes, this is a beautiful, unique place - but you can't take pictures because they are driving too fast! Waste of time and money. more

My mother (age 81) and I went to Glacier Gardens as part of a cruise ship tour. The flowers are pretty, but not as extensive as most botanical gardens. You ride in trams up trails to an overlook. This allowed my mother to see the native vegetation, but for an able bodied person it was not different from what you... more

We pulled into Glacier Gardens and saw all the upside down trees with flowers in them. They were beautiful. Maybe the sign saying don't photograph until you pay the admission fee should have been a tip. Because after the flowers, there was nothing to see. We went up the mountain into the Tongas rainforest, which you will see all over... more

Although, kind of hokey, in that most of the blooms are straight from green houses, we enjoyed the concept and entrepreneurship of its owners. It was fun to see, the young people acting as tram drivers and guides were friendly and upbeat, and the views from the top are spectacular. A commercial enterprise, it is a little pricey for a... more

I first visted the Glacier Gardens in 1998. If you like botanical gardens even just a little bit, you'll love this place. It's a must see because no one else makes gardens this way. It's best to go on a good weather day, so you can get good photos. more

We were advised by 3 different sets of local residents to tour Glacier Gardens as an alternative to Mt Roberts Tramway. Boy, are we glad we took their advice. The concept of land reclamation is visionary, and the AmeriCorps volunteers who guide your tour and work the site are inspirational! more
