It is a short tram ride for $32.00 per person although you can make as many trip as you want for the day. There was a 20 minute wait at the bottom and about the same coming down. The view at the top is fantastic. There is a little trading store at the top as well as hiking trails. The... More

A short ride takes you to the top of the mountain where there's a restaurant and hiking trails. The views looking down on Juneau are great and the food and drink at the restaurant is pretty good too. Because we took a (terrible) bicycle ride prior to venturing up the mountain we didn't have enough time to take the trail... More

We had a short day in port for Juneau and probably tried to squeeze too much in. We started out with a visit to the Mendenhall Glacier, followed by the tram ride up Mt. Roberts. The line for the tram was long, but the ride is pretty short. The view from the top is spectacular, and there is a nice... More

Definitely worth the trip. The views from the top are magnificent. The commentary on the tram by George was informative and very amusing. Certainly the highlight of our visit to Juneau. Yes it does seem overpriced but it has to make it's money in a short season. Jean & Dave

To compromise with hubby I hiked with him up to the tram from town. It was a beautiful trail through the woods but all uphill (go figure) and full of roots and muddy areas. I was rather unprepared to go huffing and puffing for and hour and a half. However, it was a great stress test and I passed, the... More

You can hike up the mountain or you can pay a hefty sum to ride the tram. I think it was $32 a person, but that is good for many rides throughout the day. I'm afraid of heights so I didn't look much while riding, but my husband was able to take some pictures of the view. The ride is... More

I came here on my last day in Juneau. At first the price of the tram ride to the top did not bother me ($32 for an adult) but upon arriving at the top of the mountain, I immediately felt like I overpaid. At the top of the mountain there is not much to do. I took the hike to... More

Yes, they do say you can ride it all day for one price, but since most people are only there for one day, and there are other things to see and do, I'm sure that doesn't happen much. Not sure why $25.00 would not be an adequate fee as you don't get anything else with the ride up except opportunities... More

Went up the tramway and walked the Alpine loop. Top tip for people with dodgy knees; take a walking pole 'cos it's a trail not a board walk.

The view from the top was amazing and it was fun to see a bald eagle up close. They did play a short movie and videos of the local area which is always interesting to watch.. Past that it felt like your local tourist attraction, we did hike down the back side and that was a great walk 2.5 miles,... More
