While on an Alaskan cruise we decided to take an excursion to Taku glacier Lodge, a log cabin built sometime in the 1920’s that was used as a hunting and fishing lodge. Access to the lodge is by seaplane from downtown Juneau. The trip is billed as a sightseeing and dinner tour. While traveling on the 30 minute floatplane you... More

The crew was amazing and the flight over the ice field on the way to the lodge was breathtaking. My son was even allowed to be a co pilot and sit at the front of the plane. I was nervous about being in a seaplane but really enjoyed it, especially the landing. Once we got to the lodge, we enjoyed... More

I was on Alaska cruise with my brother and we decided to do the floatplane tour. They sell out, but we were able tobget two seats. Views and narration are once in a lifetime. Well worth the money!!

Agreeing with just about everyone else who takes this excursion -- one of the highlights of our two weeks in Alaska! The float plane experience was AWESOME. It was a lovely day and we had just phenomenal views of the glaciers and mountains. The lodge is lovely. The meal was delicious! Just a fantastic time, well worth the expense.

This was one of the highlights of our Alaska trip. We arrived at the dock and our tour was divided into three groups. We were ushered to our waiting float plane, after a short talk we boarded and took our seats. Everyone has a window and head phones. We taxied out on the water and had a very smooth take... More

Best excursion we've taken in Alaska. Flights are fantastic. It is so beautiful to see mountains and glaciers from above. Great lunch. Nice hiking trails. This year we even saw a bear come up to the outside pit where the salmon is cooked. We saw bear tracks when we took a short walk after lunch. Love this trip.

This was an awesome experience! The flight provided amazing views of glaciers. The folks at the Taku Lodge are all helpful and courteous. I loved hearing the history of the lodge. The guided tour of a short trail was very informative. The food is amazing! This is a MUST DO experience!

Seaplanes are a primary mode of travel in the wilderness portions of Alaska. This trip starts at the seaplane terminal in Juneau, which is right next to the pier where the cruise ships dock. You fly on an authentic DeHaviland Otter seaplane about 50 miiles into the interior to the Taku Glacier Lodge. The views from the plane are incredible... More

Fantastic experience while in Juneau! We cruised to Juneau and Wings Airways was right near the dock. They divide you up into groups of about 8-10 for each floatplane and you get on this little floatplane and take off. What an incredible experience! It is about a 35 minute flight to the Taku Lodge and you fly over different glaciers.... More

Enjoyed the view at this wonderful "lodge". We spent the afternoon after a bumpy sea plane ride. You could see the glaciers in the distance dwafing the trees and everything else in site. The baked Salmon was very good. I wasn't able to eat it there as I was suffering from air sickness, but had some later. Nice little gift... More
