Visited the glacier on a snowy day and the scenery was breathtaking. It is amazing to just stand still and take in the beauty of nature.

This place is breath taking. I just didn't get enough!!!... so worth the visit. The weather was a bit wet for us this day but we still loved it. The Glaciers, any of the glaciers in Alaska are worth visiting. We just drove and walked and looked and just could not get enough. I recommend a visit to all that... More

Whether I believed in God or not, The Man Upstairs showed OUT in His glorious majesty with the unbelievable sights of the Mendenhall Glacier and Nugget Falls. You will never, ever, EVER SEE a place like this anywhere else. What you DO see is just a few short miles of a 1,500-square-mile glacial wonderland, ever active everyday. Awesome staff. Easy-to-walk... More

Visited here while on our Carnival Legend cruise. This is a must see as you can almost reach out and touch the glaciers. I hate to think how much our changing climate is causing these glaciers to shrink and retreat. It was amazing to see records at the visitors center of the drawback of this magnificent glacier. There are many... More

We went in the morning and did the whole visitor's center thing, which was nice. Then we went back at dusk to look for bears. Score! Came across one on our hiking path and watched her fishing for salmon for a while. So cool! Also almost walked right into a porcupine! Next and more importantly: the view is STUNNING! This... More

Smartest thing I did was book a car in Juneau before arriving on our cruise. I booked through toursinalaska.com & they had it waiting for us at the pier. We headed straight for the glacier & it was very easy to find. We beat most of the tour buses so we were mostly unimpeded in our journey. Leaving the falls... More

As the glaciers are receding quickly, make an effort to get there...one of the few glaciers which you can get up close with, and lots of trails to walk, plus an excellent visitor centre to explain everything you see.

While on a cruise to Alaska one of our ports of call was Juneau, the capital city of Alaska. We spent the day on a shore excursion that took us to Mendenhall Glacier. It was amazing to see the glacier as it edges into the water inch by inch. And to think it has been doing this for years and... More

We visited Mendenhall Glacier while on a cruise stop. It is easy to get access from the dock with multiple buses that will drop you off in the parking lot for the Glacier. We walked to the viewing areas and got stunning photos! I memorable place to visit.

Thank Pam C
