You can see all the blue in the glacier and see some of the glacier broken off and floating. There is a water fall and you pan very close to it.

Where else can you drive-up to a glacier in your car? I had seen Mendenhall Glacier 8 years ago, I went back this month and it's just as beautiful as I remembered. It's magnificent, I have no other word. There is ample free parking near the glacier. There is a convenient viewing area right in front of it across the... More

I've seen this glacier before but it never gets old. The hike to the waterfall and witness it's power! Scenery is incredible. If you go, go in May--it's their sunniest month. Temperature was 70 degrees

Don't just go to the glacier, but take a helicopter tour (Temsco is good). Not cheap, but it's once in a life time opportunity. You will be on the glacier, walking on blue ice, drinking blue water, enjoying beautiful ice shapes around you. Get dressed WARM!!! We went in August and it was freezing there. Be prepared!

Totally worth the $3 admission to watch a movie on the Juneau Ice Field. The staff was helpful and the gift shop had books and postcards etc. pay the money and look at the exhibits and watch video. Go through tunnel and take the elevator up to observatory. The view is nice of the glacier also from the observatory.

After a very short hike from the parking lot we could see the glacier and enjoy it beauty. Very tranquil just looking at the scenery. You can walk right up next to a nice water fall adjacent to the glacier. We saw big horn sheep in the mountain above the glacier. Nice easy walk to see the glacier and water... More

This is the closest you will ever get to a real glacier. Great trails, lots of wildlife, and a superb visitor center.

This is a very good attraction. You can get a close up view of a glacier. There are trails that you can walk along and a place to get shelter if the weather is bad. You may get lucky and see some of the wild life near the glacier. Bear, dear, wolves, birds are among some of the wild life... More
