Description: Alaskan sized adventure! This is it, the world's largest zip-line: 5,330...
Alaskan sized adventure! This is it, the world's largest zip-line: 5,330 feet long, 1,300 foot vertical drop, 60 mph maximum speed, 300 feet highest point from ground, 1.5 minute ride time! If you are looking for true adventure then the ZipRider is for you. Unlike anything you've seen before the ZipRider cable ride at Icy Strait Point is truly a once in a lifetime experience. Your adventure begins when you board your bus for the ride to the top the mountain. Your driver will narrate as you pass through the village of Hoonah and then up the mountainside. Once on top you will take a short walk to the launching area. At 1,300 feet above sea level you will sit into a special harness seat and await your launch. Six guests launch at once, and it is a race to the bottom! 3, 2, 1 and you're off, accelerating to 60 mph as you pass 300 feet above the treetops. If your eyes are still open you will see sweeping views of Port Frederick, Icy Strait and your cruise ship far below. Your ZipRide concludes with a break-activated landing on the beach back at Icy Strait Point.Participants must be between 90 and 275 pounds and be comfortable with heights. This ride is not recommended for individuals with back or neck problems, or who are pregnant. Photos will be available at the end of your ride!

It was a very well organised queueing system, signing of a waiver form and weigh in before we had time to browse the shops and wait for our wristband colour to be called. On the ride on the bus up to the top we saw a bear swimming in the lake which was an added extra. There wasn't much of... More

The weather was cold and I suddenly got nervous at the peak. It was thrilling, well...it's the largest in the world. Had to wear goggles - for those who wear lens and glasses. The only thing is they should put up a sign or something to tell the riders to look at the camera and smile. I didn't realise about... More

This ride was exhilarating. I had some apprehension, but when I saw we'd be in Icy Strait Point on my 60th birthday, I made the zip line my goal. I had never been on a zip line before. It seemed different than other zip lines I've seen. First, six of you are launched simultaneously. Instead of hanging from the zip... More

We took about a 45 minute bus ride to get to the zipline. The Bus driver gave a narrative of the area on the trip. I was a bit nervous but I lucked out that morning as it was foggy at the top. Once the gate opened & we cleared the fog (almost immediately) the view was GORGEOUS! Once at... More

The World's Largest Ziprider! Not the tallest, or the longest, but at 6 lines wide and taller than the Empire State Building, it is the World's Largest. The staff are super-nice, and the ride is great. They don't gauge you on the photos - they are only $12 if you choose to buy one, and the view is amazing. A... More

This is definitely worth the money - the ride was beautiful and exhilarating. The staff at the top were professional and definitely put safety first. The photos left a bit to be desired, but then again it has to be hard to get good photos when the subject is going 60+ MPH!! The t-shirts they sell to commemorate the feat... More
