This is it, the world's largest zip-line: 5,330 feet long, 1,300 foot vertical drop, 60 mph maximum speed, 300 feet highest point from ground, 1.5 minute ride time! If you are looking for true adventure then the ZipRider is for you. Unlike anything you've seen before the ZipRider cable ride at Icy Strait Point is truly a once in a lifetime experience. Your adventure begins when you board your bus for the ride to the top the mountain. Your driver will narrate as you pass through the village of Hoonah and then up the mountainside. Once on top you will take a short walk to the launching area. At 1,300 feet above sea level you will sit into a special harness seat and await your launch. Six guests launch at once, and it is a race to the bottom! 3, 2, 1 and you're off, accelerating to 60 mph as you pass 300 feet above the treetops. If your eyes are still open you will see sweeping views of Port Frederick, Icy Strait and your cruise ship far below. Your ZipRide concludes with a break-activated landing on the beach back at Icy Strait Point.Participants must be between 90 and 275 pounds and be comfortable with heights. This ride is not recommended for individuals with back or neck problems, or who are pregnant. Photos will be available at the end of your ride! « less

We enjoyed zip lining on Icy Strait Point after our ATV ride looking for bears. The zip line is a quick ride down the mountain with a beautiful view. The ATV ride is a typically follow the leader and might not be worth the money if you are used to riding four wheelers without a leader to follow. We purchased... More

My wife and I (in our fifties) had a blast and my wife does not typically do this sort of thing. The scariest part was the anticipation! The bus ride up - a mini tour of Hoonah was interesting. If it were not so expensive we would have done it again. But now we can say that we have done... More

I did it because it seemed adventuresome and I would never be back that way again. It was OK, but it is over so quickly. I tried to take pictures while I was doing it, and that was a bad idea. Just take the ride and fly! It is so short that I missed the fun fooling with the camera... More

The bus ride up was informative and the driver was pretty funny. The views were breathtaking on the way and at the top. A short walk through the woods to the zip line and we were there. Up to 6 can go at a time so I was able to go together with my 2 family members. It's 1.5 min... More

I had one of the best times of my life on this humongous zipline. I say humongous because it's a solid mile long. 1400 ft in the air flying at about 60 miles per hour. I learned to ball up to go faster and extend your legs down to slow down the ride. I held my camera (galaxy 4) in... More

Visited this zip wire ride as a shore excursion from our cruise ship. Well organised. You have to check any bags at the bottom but you can bring your own camera with you. I was able to capture some good video as I shot down the wire. Organisation is good at the base. Then you are taken by bus through... More

I don't know what got into me when I booked this trip...guess I was in an adventurous mood. I was pretty nervous about it but once I got to the top there was no turning back. It was really fun and a unique experience. I went down with my husband (we are both senior citizens) and our daughter and her... More

If you ever get to Icy Straight Point in Alaska, try this zipline out. It is the worlds biggest zipline. It goes about a mile and a half and you reach about 60 miles per hour. 6 people take off at the same time. Even the ride up in the bus was fun. A Tlingit tribesman drove the bus and... More
