Everyone was professional, knowlegeable, and very courteous. In addition the stories told by Paul were very entertaining, informative and gave a great insight into life on the island. The boats are much smaller than the cruise ship booked tours giving you a much more personal experience. We highly recommend anyone wanting to go on a tour from Icy Point to... More

This was a great tour! Our bus driver was friendly and prompt, sharing her own stories about living in the area. The boat captain was fabulous. I felt absolutely comfortable aboard the vessel. He was super knowledgeable about the area and how / where to spot whales and other wildlife. He and the assistant were also endlessly entertaining. :) Our... More

Recently took this trip while we were on a cruise in Alaska. Our guide was named Herm and he was very knowledgeable in a safe captain while boating. We solve plenty of whales, sea otters, and a huge sea lion named Bubba. Herm was friendly and his boat was well kept clean and most important reliable. I would recommend this... More

Had a great whale watching tour with Capt. Paul and James. Saw LOTS of orcas, which was my goal. We looked for bear but did not find any. Saw humpbacks and a cute seal. Was a beautiful trip. Boat was comfortable and easy to move around in. Would definitely recommend this outfit. Oh and we did the city tour too.... More

Our family recently toured with Capt. Paul on August 25. 4 adults and 2 children ages 14 and 11. It was a 3 hour tour from start to finish. They had waters and granola bars for a quick snack. We came off the Celebrity Millennium where Jamie met us right off the pier and drove us to the fishing pier... More

Being from Southern Califirnia we have seen many whales. This trip was well worth it. We saw many many humpback whales. The captain was able to get up close and personal. We had a a fantastic day. I highly recommend this excursion.

Booked online because we wanted a smaller, more intimate tour plus my daughter REALLY wanted to see sea otters. Herm, our captain, did not disappoint. Took us right to the whales and explained what we were seeing. Even had a whale come right up to the boat -- too cool! My daughter got to see her beloved sea otters --... More

We were on the Oceana Regatta for 10 days and this was the highlight tour for us. We booked this privately and they were very helpful with information before we booked as my husband with Parkinsens was in a mobile wheel chair -you have to be mobile and able to walk and step into the boat ..and get down a... We booked with Hoonah Travel Adventures because we wanted a smaller boat whale watching trip, not the big boat that our cruise shore excursion option used. The guides were friendly and helpful. We managed to see a lot of humpbacks who came and swam close to the boat. We also saw lots of sea otters, and stellar sea lions.
