We were told about the Norman Lowell art gallery and decided to drop in. Norman was there and more than willing to talk to his guests. The artwork was spectacular as was the pottery. We also took a look at his original cabin and gardens.

We visited the Norman Lowell Gallery, gardens and home when we left Homer on Monday, June 29, 2015. The gallery is open and free to the public. The side trip is well worth the time and effort. We toured the grounds prior to entering the gallery. Norman, Libby and their family began their Alaskan adventure is a very small cabin... More

A totally unexpected experience. Saw the simple sign gallery and we had a couple hours to kill on a rainy day. Stopped in expected a small cabin type gallery with 8-10 works of a local artist. Well, the gallery is at least 4,000 sq ft.; wood outside, but more professional inside both in layout and quality than many galleries in... More

What an unexpected surprise. Mr. and Mrs. Lowell are delight and so willing to share time and experience with guests. What a wonderful experience, so glad someone told us to come here.

So glad we stopped to visit this painter's gallery. He is such an accomplished artist, and seeing his originals in their giant format on the walls of this grand gallery is not to be missed. Very inspiring!

Mr Lowell is in the Gallery to greet everyone and talk about his work. Don't miss his Homestead Cabin and Greenhouse outside.

Norman has some great artwork at this studio. Truly talented. It's worth stopping for an hour or so to see his artwork depicting Alaska

Love this gallery... no charge, peaceful music, a huge variety of paintings that Mr. Lowell has produced over a span of years. No one hurries you along and you can take as long as you want at each picture. He was there and we talked about the great variety of media that he has used... while other artists find the... More

Norman Lowell who is now 87 years old and legally blind was still there in his Gallery to discuss his beautiful Alaskan landscape paintings with gallery visitors.
