We hiked all the trails in about 2 hours. It is located out of the way of the crowds and we had the trails to ourselves.

We stumbled upon this while driving around the Skyline drive area. There are nice trails around the property. It may be the time of year that we visited, but I was not super impressed. I did get some great pictures of a couple of fields of fireweed, but I don't think that was worth the price of admission.

Wonderful easy hikes through nature center. Found watermelon berries and nangoon berries. Found out both are edible, alas didn't trust tasting along the way!

The hubby and I were enjoying a scenic drive on Skyline drive when we discovered the Carl Wynn Nature Center. As we wandered through the lush trails,we suddenly found ourselves looking through a field of fireweed and facing the loveliest view of the Homer Spit. Scenic and relaxing - worth the hike!

We did not have a tour here but truly enjoyed hiking the trails. Very pretty scenery and views. The trails take you through tall grass, marsh like areas and forest.

Nice place visit if you have lots of time in Homer. Be sure to bring mosquito repellent. There is nice museum and hiking maps and trial guides.

This is such a special location in Alaska. It is "wild" yet accessible with well maintained trails and a staff of dedicated and knowledgeable guides. You can of course go by yourself on the miles of trails and have a wonderful time bird watching and being outside. While I was there I saw several moose and multiple birds such as... More

This nature center had history, interactive education, and exhibits. We really enjoyed going there. Did you know that the Japanese attacked Alaska during WWII? They had an exhibit on this. Lots to do and see.

This is a wonderful way to spend a few hours in Homer. They have several easy nature walks. There are lookouts along the way, and several places to sit and just enjoy the view.
