Wynn Nature Center is a cute little set nature of nature walks off East Skyline Road. They do guided tours as well as offer maps for self walking tours. There is a small fee to walk around, but it is worth it for a nice day out and about on fairly well maintained, level trails. It's a great place to... More

The docent led walks are over for the season-one can still walk the boardwalk with the hope of seeing some wildlife. A gift from a local resident to the town, this is a nice resource for both locals and visitors.

I visited this nature center twice in my one week in Homer. Both times, the naturalist walking with us knew every plant and its uses, and helped us see the birds we wanted to see. They really knew their stuff, and the trails are great for walking.

Enjoyed a beautiful hike to the lookout. It was an easy hike through woods, fireweeds etc. The lookout was breathtaking !! highly recommend. They have multiple hikes, some super easy on a boardwalk. They also had hot chocolate inside the cabin and a roaring fire. The staff was super nice and helpful.

This place is a little hard to find with worth the effort. A wonderful nature preserver with a staff to match. When you go make SURE you take one of the two guided scheduled tours. The staff is friendly, knowledgable and will know all the answers to your questions. A real learning experience for kids as well as adults. Don't... More

They have done a nice job with the trails they have there. While we did not sight any animals, they have had recent moose sightings and even had a lynx sighting there last July. Lots of information on the plants. The tours they offer are also very informative. They do not offer tours every day so check the time of... More

We took an easy 3 mile guided walk. The walk was beautiful with varied plant life -- very small plants, large trees, and all in between. The guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. We tried several kinds of wild berries (and were told which not to eat because they are poisonous). Some of our friends, on another path, saw a... More

We spent several hours at the center on an afternoon in between rain storms. The site is very lovely and well worth the visit. The views were great in several spots.

If you are a nature person this is the place for you. The trails are well maintained and as the guide told us virtually impossible to get lost on. Make sure you go to the bathroom before you leave though because there are no bathrooms on the trail. I would recommend a good pair of shoes because even though the... More
