This was totally a great place. Get good directions, it's several miles from town. A handsome young ranger was manning the fort. We did a guided tour with him (you pay $7 to use the trails or do a tour.) He was patient, well informed, and very interesting. Pointed out all the berries and showed which were ok to eat... More

Enjoyed taking a 2 1/2 mile guided hike through these beautiful woods. Be prepared for some uneven ground with lots of tree roots to step through and around, but other than that this is a very easy walk.

This is a nice place to go for a walk. We saw some 'new' birds (Warblers) but no moose, but maybe that was a good thing.

my granddaughter and I went to spend some time on the trails. They have 5 miles of trails and lots of flowers, ferns and trees. She is 11 and I am 76. She ran ahead of me most of the time and while on Moose trail we saw a bear near our trail. After that I stayed close and decided... More

We spent a morning here and took the tour with Ruth as our guide. What a great way to begin our week in Homer! We learned so much about the plants and wildlife in the area - information we used each day on our hikes and scenic drives.

This is a beautiful nature reserve with easily-hiked trails throughout. Staff was friendly, knowledgeable and went the "extra mile" to make sure visitors had a great experience. It was a nice touch for them to provide laminated guides to birds and flowers to take along on our hike. Several viewing platforms have also been constructed to make it easier to... More

This was a fun time hiking in the woods with the kids. The staff was great and made sure we enjoyed our hike. They were very knowledgeable and offered us wildflower guides. Not very exciting but a safe and easy hiking area for kids.

Great way to learn about Alaska's unique flora! You will take a short easy walk with a knowledgable botanist. Very interesting to learn about the flowers and shrubs in the area.

We have been to the Wynn Center several times in the past and always enjoy the walks...We chose not to have a guide this year, but they have always been helpful and very knowledgeable. The trails are constantly being improved with beautiful boardwalks being extended each year over the boggy meadow areas. Another nice morning spent exploring the forest. Nice... More
