This is a wonderful way to spend a few hours in Homer. They have several easy nature walks. There are lookouts along the way, and several places to sit and just enjoy the view.

We were very impressed with the nature center, the friendly staff and the magnificent views along the trails. We hiked almost their entire trail system in 2.5 hours.

Beautiful area with plenty of flowers and friendly staff. $7 a person for adults. If you want to do some short hikes in Homer this is your best bet. Trails are well kept but with tall tree roots in some areas. There are a few well done observation areas. Bring bug spray for Mosquitos. One downside is the side closest... More

The Wynn Nature Center is located on East Skyline Drive, about 15 minutes (by vehicle) from the Homer town center, and offers a network of boardwalks, trails, and interpretive displays that feature the interesting ecology of the southern Kenai Peninsula. They offer wonderful nature-based programs for youths and children, which are held in their outdoor classroom area (sheltered from rain).... More

My husband and I stumbled upon the Nature Center while taking a scenic drive around Homer. We pulled in and it happened to be their first official day of the season – June 15, 2014. We went on a nature hike with the naturalists and spent about two hours learning about the flora and fauna of the area. It was... More

The office hadn't opened for the season yet but they invited us to explore the trails on our own. We did. Nice relatively easy hikes. Lots of flowers which are identified in their guides. No wildlife sightings but still a nice hike.

Great stop for those who enjoy learning about indigenous plants, birds, etc. We even lucked out and saw baby moose! Much of it is wheelchair accessible and there are benches for resting along the way. Open 10-6.

Our kids really liked the trails and saw alot of wildlife here. Met up with friends from NYC here which was a pleasant surprise! Spent most of the day here with them and had dinner with them. We won't forget this place and took alot of pictures. Good Memories!

Great parking and pleasant wood boardwalk trails so accessible to wheelchairs. Summer time several activities on a regular basis, call the Center for Alaskan Coastal Studies for what's happening here.

We stopped here and took a hike on the trail outside. We saw some enthusiastic birdwatchers and I can understand why since there are some warblers and other birds that are there. We were there before they opened and could have went in but choose not to. If you like nature this is worth the stop.
