So, while this can be a way to get to Seldovia, I was not impressed the times the ferry traveled through Eldred Passage the last time I traveled on it. Docking on the Seldovia end was also a problem. I did not travel on it this summer so they may have improved facilities.

Great experience! Flat calm water and a whale and sea otters around. Seldovia is charming. Granddaughters age 9, 4 and 1 all had a wonderful experience. Don't miss the little bakery to the left of the boat ramp. The owner had the most unique play kitchen set up for children I had ever seen. She was warm & friendly and... More

Though it was raining a little, drizzle drizzle we had a great time. The convenience of the ferry's shelter and heat, we circled around a huge rock filled with all kinds of birds. We also saw Otters, whales, puffins and more. The tour operator was clear and precise descriptions of what we were experiencing and seeing. Once we docked we... More

we spent a rainy day aboard boat & then went into town. Not really worth going into town. We had a mediocre lunch & walked around. But, the boat ride over was great - we saw tons of wildlife and whales.

This is a good way to get to Seldovia where you will have time to have some lunch at one if the local bars/restaurants and take a waking tour of the community.

Not too expensive and fast, it runs between Homer and Seldovia - a quiet little backwater that has so-far escaped too much progress. It's a catamaran hull, so it's a smooth ride. The crew are helpful and friendly and they will load and unload for you. Watch-out for whales and otters whilst on the journey.

Took the ferry to Seldovia for a day visit in August. It departed on time both trips. It was very handy being able to take our dog on board, even if it meant staying at the back of the upper deck. It does get windy and more exposed there, so dress appropriately if you are going to be travelling with... More

It was a very nice ferry ride to Seldovia. We saw a lot of marine wild life. Enjoyed the cruise. When we got there, we had lunch at one of the four places there to eat. Not much to see when you're there.

Not a lot to do when you get there so forces you to relax a little. Food was great at recommended restaurant and could stay as long as you wanted. They determine your stay with one ferry over and one back.
