We did the day trip with Rick & Dorla in August. It was a perfect way to spend the day. You really felt like you were away from civilization. Complete instructions were provided. The kayaking was not too strenuous. Rick passed on a lot of knowledge about the area. 2 snow capped volcanoes in the area - we didn't know.... More

My wife and I had a wonderful time as we spent a day kayaking on Little Tutka Bay with the proprietors of Seaside Adventures. We saw whales, bald eagles, sea otters, seals as well as lots of other assorted marine life and birds. The trip is not strenuous and you can go at your own pace. Make sure you bring... More

This review is for kayaking and staying on the property. Tutka Bay is a magical place - the best part of our vacation through Alaska! Our party of seven 30-something adults really enjoyed the kayaking tour including learning about the area from Rick, forging for local plants to include in our delicious lunch and finding wildlife. The kayaking was very... More

We really enjoyed our entire day spent with Seaside Adventures. They truly care about nature and want you to appreciate the beauty and serenity of their bay. We appreciated that there were only 5 double kayaks in our outing and that included our three guides. A few days after our outing, our adult son joined us for the final part... More

Having never kayaked in my life, I was a bit apprehensive about trying it out. However, after speaking to Dorla before making our reservations, it was clear that we would be in good hands. And we were! My sister-in-law and I had a lovely leisurely day on the bay. We watched otters eat mussels and were close enough to hear... More

I, too, did a lot of research on kayak tours in the Homer area and chose this one because of the educational aspect and honestly, the idea of gathering stuff to make lunch along the way sounded like fun! I really can't add any more details than what you can read in the other great reviews posted; I can only... More

I had researched various kayaking tours in Homer and chose Seaside Adventures for their seemingly sincere love for the environment...and their desire to educate. I was not disappointed! Rick was very helpful and friendly when I first booked the tour....I felt very welcome and looked forward to meeting him and Dorla. The day of my tour (I was the only... More

I don't know when exactly I realized we had picked the best kayak tour, but it was definitely early on in the day. Dave, the owner of the water taxi we hired (through Rick and Dorla), had his dog Pika along for the day, so that was a good start. Homer is awash in friendly dogs, and Pika is among... More

This is the second time we have gone out with Rick of A Seaside Adventure. It remains a highlight of our trip. Rick has a great deal to offer and knows the area - after all, it is his front yard as he lives on the bay year round. We saw a great many sea otters, lots of unusual birds,... More

From the moment we arrived we were taken care of. It was a really low tide when the water taxi dropped us off and Rick and his assistant Woofers brought us Wellingtonboots to keep our feet dry. Our 7 year old son was already captivated by the sunflower starfish that Rick showed us and we made our way up to... More
