After hearing everyone one say we needed to go to the Salty Dwag, we stopped there on our visit to Homer. The place was empty around two o'clock in the afternoon. After waiting for at least 10 minutes the waitress finally came over. Without greeting us she asked for our license . I had left mine in Anchorage and she... More

I give this 5 stars just for the novelty of the place and the bar tenders that were very fun the few times I have been there and ofcourse a person has to then buy the shirt. But be warned, this place is a dive in true Alaska fashion and there is no food and drink prices are not cheap.

A Must-See when coming to Homer Alaska. Old Lighthouse with 2 rooms, $1 bills all over the walls, ceiling... everywhere, pick your spot and leave a piece of you behind. Bartenders were very friendly, as well as all the other tourists that were in there. Be sure to purchase one of their icon sweatshirts or t-shirts. They don't serve any... More

An iconic place that is a must visit when in Homer. Plus getting a T-shirt from there will definitely make even some Alaskans green with envy. Make the time to stop for a drink (preferably after you've eaten something): the place offers some beer, strong alcohols and literally no food. We were starving when we got there so ended up... We stopped in and enjoyed listening to a group singing sea shanties. Bring a dollar bill or to leave tacked to the wall. A true original. Pool tables in the back. No beer on draft but a good selection of Alaskan brews alongside the usual Bud.

Very cool place to visit. It is a must if you are in Homer. The folks who work there are super friendly and the beer is cold. It can get crowded, but we had a great time.

People stop here just to say they've been here! Friendly service the few times I've gone. Don't expect a classy, upscale wine bar; this place has underwear and bras hanging on the wall and graffiti written on the bathroom walls. They repaint once a year. You can also write on a dollar and place it on the walls, ceilings or... More

This is a must if you are in the vicinity. I found the bartender to be very welcoming from the minute I walked in the door. He was also very knowledgeable and willing to talk about local history. The place is covered with dollar bills signed with visitors names or comments. So, sit at the bar, grab a sharpie they... More
