Legendary in ever aspect of the word. A must for anyone traveling, staying, or living in Homer. Very historic and a great location to meet up with old and new friends. It's a warm and friendly place to stop by when near.

We had a beer at the Famous Salty Dawg saloon. The had heard stories and had to make the stop. Very interesting place, many came in just to buy shirts! Service was good, our bartender was as blunt as it gets... But hey it is a saloon not a restaurant. Heard stories and honestly happy there were no bras and... More

I love this place! I've been back three different times, twice in the summer and one in the dead of winter. The best part is, the place is always the same fun and eclectic bar. The bartenders are great and friendly and the atmosphere is awesome. Stop in for a good Alaskan beer and buy a sweatshirt. Don't forget to... More

Fun great place to have a drink. The atmosphere is friendly and we met some great locals and had a fun time. The one dollar bills now cover t-shirts and bras...lol definitely would go back if ever here again.

After a long day of shopping, visiting or, more importantly, FISHING, the Salty Dog Saloon is a must! Take a moment and relax with a nice cold beer or mixed beverage of your choice with everyone else who's doing exactly the same! Oldest bar in the area. My Grandma has her name on the wall!!!!

We went after being told by a friend we had to stop here. You have to go to the bar to order your drinks. The bar maid just picks up the empties. You can't use a credit card here. They gladly point you to the ATM machine. Wish they served food in here but they don't. We came here several... More

The staff are super friendly and helpful, the atmosphere is buzzing and the place is an iconic landmark (both inside and out) in Homer Spit.

Touristy but still fun. Very crowded with about 10,000 dollar bills and other crazy things hanging everywhere. They don't take credits cards and I don't think they have draft beer. The older female bartender was kind of rude but that strangely went ok with the atmosphere! There are surprisingly very few bars on the Spit so slim pickings. Good to... More
