Such a cool place with all the money on the walls and ceilings. Staff was so cool and funny. Loved this little neat bar right on the Spit.

Hot spot, "go to here"... Get the Salty Dawg. Greyhound with salt rim. We added a little Grand Marnier....wow!! Good. Jukebox made it fun, full bar, grab a table for a group of 6 or more and settle in. People watch and leave your mark with a signed bill....you'll see what I mean when you get there. Great Bloody Mary... More

The SDS is a quaint and cozy little pub known around the world. In the summertime it opens at 10am and closes at 5pm so there is plenty of time to drop on in. It's not the biggest size-wize, so if it gets busy the party spills out to the picnic benches in the fenced off smoking area out back.... More

OK, so it is an old saloon, and a "must see" for visitors to Homer, but the musty smell made it necessary to sit close to the door. Unique atmosphere, and very friendly staff- for sure. And, yes, I bought a hat for $20 that is my favorite souvenir of our Alaska trip.

We went to the Salty Dawg for a couple of drinks. It was really busy but this seems to add to the atmosphere. The place has been decorated over the years with money from all over the globe. The staff were friendly and it was a nice place to just chill.

My wife and some friends of ours visited the Salty Dawg Saloon in Homer Alaska a week ago on a cruise, and had a great experience. The small Saloon is so unique as it features thousands of autographed and signed dollar bills, hanging from everywhere in the Saloon. The drink specials and standard drinks which are served are very good,... More

Walked in and seemed like we were with old friends. Visitors and locals alike were great. Stopped for a drink and left about midnight. Bartenders were awesome and asked us as well as others if they were driving or can they call a cab.....

The place is small and crowded but that is half the fun! We can spend hours inside reading all the dollar bills! Sit and have a drink and enjoy being in the neatest little place on the Spit!

Our trip to visit family in Homer Alaska would have not been complete with out a trip out to Homer Spit and the comfort of the Salty Dawg Saloon. A step inside takes you on a journey of those who have come before you. Timeless, warm and inviting many a seafarer could cozy up to the bar and enjoy a... More
