Gary the owner is very picky about who he hires and how he runs his operation. His Turbine powered Otters are faster across Cook Inlet than the competition using regular engines. Plus is planes are spotless and well maintained. He owns his own hangars and maintenance facilities, and that helps keep the planes in tip-top shape. This is a larger... More

This was my second trip with Bald Mountain, and they did not disappoint, this time I took my daughter and 2 friends with me, and they agreed with me, an absolutely fantastic day, worth every cent. we sat amongst the bears and watched them catch and eat fish, one even came and sat near us twice to eat his fish.... We did the tour at the beginning of August and were flown to Moraine Creek/ Funnel Creek. The flight there was very pretty. Once we got there we ended sitting up a cliff and looking down at the creeks and the bears. There were many brown bears down and few can up the cliff and were quite close to us.... More

Went on Bald Mt. Air via float plane to Katmai National Park. Found out most of the bear viewing planes are more like taxis that drop you at the site. At Katmai National Park we met with Rangers who gave a short talk what to expect and how to act when you run into a bear. No food is allowed... More

This is a must do if you get the chance. We took a float plane to Katmai Nat'l Park to sit and watch the coastal brown bear also known as Kodiak or Alaskan Grizzy feeding on salmon. Our pilot and guide was very experienced and very knowledgeable. They guarantee you will see bear and we sure did. We were able... More

Great service! Flew to Brooks Falls...beautiful flight and great company. Flight was bumpy at some points due to weather but felt safe at all times. Pilot Eric was young, interesting and describe the views for us.

If you want to see bears in Alaska, you need to go to Brook Falls. And this is the company to take you! They were informative and professional. Oh yeah and funny! Weather when we went was iffy at best but Bald Mountain Air was able to get us in & out safely. Once you get to the park you... More

From the flight out to the flight back this was the trip of a lifetime. The pilot could not have been any better. The bears at the falls and in the water were stunning. the pictures were the best. bring a good telephoto lens and you can zoom right into the bears face. Bring a regular lens and you can... More

Flying over from Homer to Katmai NP is simply stunning! Each of us clicked our camera non-stop :-) We like the famous scene of bears catching fish in Brooks Falls ... What a day!

More than I expected! Gary did an amazing job of explaining where we were going on the map, telling us what to expect, had a sense of humor that made us all smile. Going to Brooks Falls is an experience one shouldn't miss. The trick, however, is to go with someone who is knowledgable, competent, loves his job and is... More
