Well worth the (fairly steep) price. Flew from Homer to Brooks Lake near Brooks Falls in Katmai National Park. It was cloudy, so the mountain viewing on the flight wasn't as spectacular as it would be on a clear day. However, it was sunny at Brooks Falls, and it was an amazing sight seeing up to six bears at a... More

The flight itself is incredible ... the water and the volcanoes should be enough, but then you get to Katmai National Park and are within viewing distance of these giant creatures. Sure, most of the time you'll watch them from a viewing platform (for you safety!), but you'll still see creatures truly in the wild being themselves. Magnificent and worth... More

Our first activity in Alaska was bear viewing. It was unbelievable. Exceeded all expectations. Our pilot was Tony. He was very knowledgeable about the area and the bears. We did have quite a walk to get to the bears, over a rocky coast, up and down short steep hills and through long grass. We did find the bears and sat... More

Hanging out with brown bears for the day at Katmai was definitely a once in a lifetime experience! I was hesitant to book this trip because it is so pricey, but it was definitely worth it! The guides do a fly over to make sure that there are bears in the area before landing, so you aren't just walking around... More

We have just returned from an incredible month in Alaska. The best day of our visit was the flight to see bears. The flight to the Katmai Reserve was beautiful in itself as we got to see the volcanoes of the area and to observe bears fishing along a river before the plane set down and we got up close... More

I should probably write my own thoughts, but below is the letter my father sent to the staff at Bald Mountain Air. I think it sums up why we loved this adventure and would recommend it to anyone. Dear Friends, We've just returned from nearly a month of vacationing in the northwest. We want you to know we will never... More

The plane ride was smooth as silk. The pilots, Eric and Tony were awesome. So friendly and were a big part of making this so special. We have been to Alaska twice and this was by far the absolute BEST day of either trips. We were in God's country watching bears be bears and I couldn't have been happier! We... More

I will start by saying that I am posting the same review on both Bald Mountain sites (not sure why there are two sites for the same company). We decided to take another bear viewing trip this year after going on a trip last year with Alaska Bear Adventures. This trip was simply amazing! We saw over 40 different bears... More
