Description: We offer Half Day and Overnight Bear and Wildlife Viewing Trips out to...
We offer Half Day and Overnight Bear and Wildlife Viewing Trips out to Katmai National Park from May through September. We have been guiding trips to Katmai for 26 years, and we have a perfect safety record with our experience with the bears. Hallo Bay Bear Camp is a fully sustainable wilderness camp designed to be a trend setting model of responsibility and low impact to this environment. Our guests observe the bears in their natural habitat where there are no viewing platforms or man-made trails. We limit our groups in size because it is our experience that small groups are much less impacting than large groups of people on any wilderness outing. The smaller group size intimidates wildlife less and leaves a much less impacting footprint on the habitat.

Have visited Hallo Bay Bear Camp several times. Pilots always courteous, informed, and chose whether to fly out of concern for safety....never choosing weather which might change during trip over or back. Plenty of bears, staff courteous, and the location provides.....as Service wrote....A stillness which provides me with peace. Jack

I just don't understand people who complain because they don't get to go because of bad weather. I would much rather have a trip canceled and stay alive and well than go with a company that "pushes the envelope" when it comes to flying in dangerous weather. It is hard to understand it you don't live here, that just because... More

Wouldn't recommend as we stayed in Homer for a number of days & because of weather, trips kept being postponed until we could wait no longer..............extra costs associated with staying and they don't refund the money you have paid. Not good.............

My daughter and I had a GREAT experience during our stay at Hallo Bay Bear Camp. The staff is very professional and did a fine job ensuring our stay was focused on viewing bears in their natural habitat (we saw bear every day!), while also enjoying the wonder and beauty of Katmai National Park. The camp is well organized, reasonably... More

An unforgettable experience. Fly in a six passenger bush plane. Land on a beach at low tide. On our trip, there were bears on the beach when we landed. Understand, seeing bears cannot be guaranteed. The flight is weather based and can be cancelled. Those two factors are beyond anyone's control. Our guide and pilot were great!

The over night trip to Hallo Bay was the highlight of our trip. We had an amazing time and saw loads grizzlies fishing, digging and doing other bear things. It was the splurge for our 2 week trip to Alaska, but so worth it! Everyone at the camp really cared about our experience and went out of their way to... More

We(my husband and I) had booked the overnight tour and needless to say we were excited! Thanks to mother nature, our flight took off without problems as planned at 10.30 am and we landed around 11.30 at Hallo Bay Bear Camp! The beach landing was amazing too! The staff were extremely warm and welcoming and briefed us on the safety... More

Reading all the reviews after having booked the Hallo Bay Camp and coming to their office being told I still had to pay half the bill, which I was sure I did already, I really did regret that I booked the whole thing. But once we stepped on to the beach and walked that great place I changed my mind.... More
