Tom Ganner was our guide and was very knowledgeable, friendly and gave great advice. I was the only one with a point and shoot camera and still learned alot. It was his first tour in Skagway of the season. We went to the Slide Cemetary, which was his first time going there. It was really neat-had alot of different lighting,... More

My wife and I booked this tour on Princess Cruises for May 13, 2015. We figured that we would be taken to Photo sites with lots of overlooks. We did get to some that were very good. Then we were taken to an old cemitary where a bunch of gold miners were laid to rest. It was nice, but we... More

Thanks so much for your comments regarding our Skagway in Focus Photography Tour. Two of the key features of our Rainbow Glacier Adventures Tours are small groups and excellent guides. We have two extremely competent guides in Skagway, Thomas and Peter, who go out of their way to provide a top quality tour experience. Depending on weather or lighting conditions... More

This was my most favorite tour during our recent Alaska cruise. As a beginner photographer we were blessed and lucky to have Rob, Tom's and other guides personal attention. We caught some really cool wildlife pictures, but most importantly I learned a whole lot more on how to better use my Nikon DSLR. Hands down would recommend this activity to... More

Thanks so much for your positive review. This was our first tour of the 2015 season and it was great to have you on this tour and start with a 5 star review! Our Skagway photography tour program is growing, and we have two top-notch photography guides stationed there this year. On your tour, you were able to meet them... More

My family and I went on an Alaskan cruise in July of 2014 with a stop in Skagway. Having used this trip as a "good reason" to get new DSLR gear, I wanted a chance to use it. I booked a photo excursion with Rainbow Glacier Adventures, and I was very pleased with the experience. My guide, Thomas Pickeral, was... More

My wife and I took this tour hoping to view / photograph Alaskan wildlife and we were not disappointed. We are amateur photographer's and between us we took several hundred images of a variety of animals and landscapes. We had a semi-rainy day but our guide said poor weather gives a better chance for encountering wildlife and she was right.... More

I signed up for this as an excursion via Holland America. I would highly recommend it for anyone interested in learning more about photography and/or simply being brought to some magnificent scenery around Skagway. Thomas was excellent and personal and when my camera failed to work he was so helpful to make sure the day was a success.

This photo tour was very much worth the time and effort! Very small group, plentiful wildlife (including Eagles, Bears, Seals, etc.); scenery and some unusual views in and around Haines that most people would never notice.

We were the last kayakers of the 2014 cruise season, according to Robert Chadwell, who met us at the dock in Haines, drove us and 2 of his pleasant friends to the Chilkoot Lake. The trip was flawless… we were granted free access to the fast ferry in Skagway, he met us on arrival in Haines, instructed us and guided... More

So I'm the lady who shows up with a NON SLR 4 year old camera that belongs to my husband, taking the tour with about ten people gently carrying their $10K zoom lens on poles. Needless to say, Tom spent more time with me on explaining the different things the various settings would do on the camera. He was endlessly... More
