My wife and I took this tour hoping to view / photograph Alaskan wildlife and we were not disappointed. We are amateur photographer's and between us we took several hundred images of a variety of animals and landscapes. We had a semi-rainy day but our guide said poor weather gives a better chance for encountering wildlife and she was right.... More

I signed up for this as an excursion via Holland America. I would highly recommend it for anyone interested in learning more about photography and/or simply being brought to some magnificent scenery around Skagway. Thomas was excellent and personal and when my camera failed to work he was so helpful to make sure the day was a success.

This photo tour was very much worth the time and effort! Very small group, plentiful wildlife (including Eagles, Bears, Seals, etc.); scenery and some unusual views in and around Haines that most people would never notice.

We were the last kayakers of the 2014 cruise season, according to Robert Chadwell, who met us at the dock in Haines, drove us and 2 of his pleasant friends to the Chilkoot Lake. The trip was flawless… we were granted free access to the fast ferry in Skagway, he met us on arrival in Haines, instructed us and guided... More

So I'm the lady who shows up with a NON SLR 4 year old camera that belongs to my husband, taking the tour with about ten people gently carrying their $10K zoom lens on poles. Needless to say, Tom spent more time with me on explaining the different things the various settings would do on the camera. He was endlessly... More

In late August, we went on an excursion with the above name. It was guided by Tom G, who is a free lance photographer too. He helped us understand composition and other facets of taking better photos. The excursion also included a chance to look for wild life. We saw an eagles nest with one adult and a fledgling standing... More

We had a wonderful afternoon with Tom Pickerel in Skagway. In spite of terrible weather we got out in the wild and off the beaten track taking a wide range of photos from misty landscapes to local floral and fauna. Tom was patient (going over the basics and teaching technical background) and keen to take us forward with inspiring and... More

This tour with Rainbow Glacier Adventures went off without a hitch. Our tour guide, Jen, was wonderful. Our goal was to see a bear in its natural habitat. That goal was achieved. We were also fortunate to see a baby eagle fledge from its nest for the first time.

The tour was great in that it got us out of the usual Skagway in-town stuff. This was our 4th (?) visit to Skagway with friends and we wanted to do something different. This fit the bill. We are also a group of photo-bugs, so it gave us the opportunity to shoot some different scenes. Thomas was great! He has... More

We were cruise passengers on the Celebrity Solstice and had searched for an interesting excursion in Skagway that was not sponsored by the cruise line. This is our fourth trip to Alaska. We decided on the Chilkoot River raft trip through the Bald Eagle Reserve with Rainbow Glacier Excursions, and had a fantastic experience. Our guide, Eric, was skilled, highly... More
