I live in Haines but was looking for something different to do while my teenage grandchildren from California were visiting. We chose this little adventure and had a wonderful time. Great fun on the 4-wheelers, excellent photo ops for my grandson who loves photography and a yummy lunch at the lodge. Definitely worth the cost.

My husband and I took this excursion while on our NCL Alaskan cruise, and LOVED it! We took a 30 minute scenic boat ride over to Haines, and were met by Ronnie and Rita, our hosts. A short bus ride took us to our location. Despite the Very cold day, it was a great time! The ride on the mules... More

We took this adventure on September 18th. It was a cold, rainy day. You take a ferry over to Haines and are met by Ronnie and take a bus over to the mountain. Good times on the bus, nice ride, not too long at all. Quick instructions, and your off! Nice slow steady pace up the mountain, your ears will... More

We took this shore excursion on September 10 2013 and throughly enjoyed the experience. Our guides Ronnie and Rita were such friendly, knowledgeable hosts and Emma fixed us a wonderful lunch of Halibut, Chicken, Potatoes and delicious salads. We were entertained after our meal by an upclose and personal visit from BooBoo their resident black bear. We booked this through... More

A little expensive but of 4 shore excursions this was by far the best. Ronnie and Rita were friendly and welcoming. Food was great. Scenery was fantastic. Would do this again with no hesitation. Trail was pretty smooth. Some mud and lots of switchbacks. This trip is appropriate for most ages as long as they can climb up into the... More

We booked this excursion through Holland America Cruise line, and it was a wonderful experience. Our guide was John, and he was a great storyteller. He gave us the history of the area and talked about life in Alaska in general. Christy prepared cookies and coffee which we had when we got to the lodge, half-way up the trail. On... More

My mother and I went on an Alaskan cruise during the first week of June. One of our stops was at Skagway. Instead, we decided we wanted to visit Haines and take two tours – one of which is Takshanuk Mountain Trail. I contacted Barbara and let me tell you – I have never met someone this friendly and understanding.... More

You begin driving up the beautiful mountain and the clean crisp air of Alaska fills your lungs. You know you're in for a beautiful time. Soon you stop for a snack of cookies coffee / hot coco &lemonaide then you continue on the journey. We stopped and picked wild blueberries, which were delicious. Once you reach the top of the... Wow, so much fun! We booked this excursion through our Disney Cruise. The views were outstanding and the hospitality from Ronnie and Christy could not be beat. Ronnie was a hoot. He had some great stories of his life in Alaska and so upbeat and high-fiving everyone. The 4x4 were great, very comfortable and the stops along the trail provided... More
