We took the tram up to the mountain and even though it is Spring there was snow flakes coming down and lots of snow, beautiful 360 view of the area. More

(There are about four choices on both the adult and children's menu, if you go for the combo.) People... More

Hopefully they will always offer this combo in the summer. Hike up on the switchback trail and they let you have a free tram ride down. We had delicious sweets & coffee in the cafeteria-style restaurant before riding down. More

Not recommended for winter sightseeing -- windows were iced over and it was difficult to see out. They also packed the sightseers and skiers both in like sardines. More

Girdwood is at the far northwest edge of the North Pacific rainforest.  That means there are PLENTY of clouds to obscure your view most any time of the year.  The tram ride itself is enjoyable (a bit pricey, but this is Alaska, you know!).  At the top is a limited-item cafeteria-style restaurant and a high-price gourmet restaurant with limited opening... Gets a little tight in there if its crowded! The electronic card system is great as you dont have to attach any pass onto your jacket - just slip the card in a pcoket and go! Don't lose it htough as it gets you on all the lifts. If it is very cold and iced up. you can't get much... More

The tram ride is only abouty 5 minutes to the top. It is wheelchair accessible and skiers can use it to get to the top of the mountain. More
