Matt Szundy took friends and I on a January ice-climbing tri¬¬¬¬p that will be remembered for a long time. Regardless of skill level, Matt can tailor a trip exactly to your skill level. The scenery and surrounding aesthetics alone make the trip worthwhile. Matt’s unparalleled mountaineering experience, passion, patience, and knowledge made this trip exceed all expectations. I have never... More

Some new friends and I decided on a trip south to escape Fairbanks and headed to Anchorage to ice climb with Matt Szundy of Ascending Path; our day of climbing frozen waterfalls proved to be exhilarating, rewarding, and pure fun with good laughs! The waterfalls we decided on faced the scenic Turnagain Arm of the Cook Inlet and was only... More

Rainforest in Alaska? Yes, take a drive to Girdwood and visit the Alyeska Resort which has many cool trails throughout the mountain. I booked our excursion through "The Ascending Path". Our guide that day was Amy and it was just me and my sister. Amy was great; like taking a "walk" and catching up with an old friend. We learned... More

We did the midnight glacier hike in June when we were in Alaska for a couple of days, and we are so glad we did. It was such a great experience and our guide was fantastic. This company was so professional, and the midnight hike was an experience we will never forget. If you have the time and enjoy a... More

We did the Glacier Hike, though we are not, by any means, athletic or in-shape. This was our first activity that we did after arriving in Alaska and what a great time we had even though we were very jet-lagged and overtired. We were provided with everything we needed including outerwear (gloves, hats, rain jacket), boots, and climbing gear. The... More

We did the full day ice climb of Byron Glacier. The staff was patient, knowledgeable, and super friendly. We were extremely pleased with the tour, hike, and climb thanks to our awesome guide Ryan. If you like the outdoors and a little adventure you HAVE to spend time with ap, especially ice climbing. The climb is exhilarating, the views indescribable,... More
