Our glacier day trip was the highlight of our trip to Alaska. We were impacted by the multi-car pile-up on the highway on August 1, but due to the quick response by the Ascending Path team and cooperation of the Alaska railroad (fantastic!) we were able to enjoy the full benefits of the trip. We are a family of 4... More

One of the best guided adventures of our trip. We did a glacier hike. Our guide was knowledgeable and intetesting. We got a dude named Ryan, he was pretty cool. My husband and I were pretty much over the cheesy tours and horrible jokes by the time we made it to Girdwood and Ryan was a refreshing reprieve from that.... More

My buddy and I joined up with a wonderful guide, Heather, through Ascending Path -- as part of a train excursion from Anchorage to Spencer. Heather took three of us from the train to a van for a short drive to the trailhead to maximize our time hiking up to the glacier lake. We had weather and rain issues as... More

We did the Alyeska Alpine Glacier Hike and it was a lot of fun! Our guide, Callie, was very informative and did a great job leading our hike. She was good at recognizing when our group needed to take a break, and also did an awesome job pointing out cool features along the way. We learned a lot about the... More

Did a glacier hike. I had scheduled a hike with AP through a separate tour company, but it was canceled due to low numbers. (We'll leave aside the fact that the other toud company - NOT AP - didn't notify me of the cancellation. I found out when I showed up ready to hike.) AP was very gracious and allowed... More

We had a number of activities during our trip in Alaska, but the hiking and kayaking at the Spencer glacier was the best. Lovely landscape. Initially I thought that the 2 hours hiking on the glacier would be too much, but once you are up there, you want to stay even more. Bryan, our guide has been excellent. Very patient... More

Yesterday was crazy bad and crazy good. A massive haz-mat level car crash on Seward Hwy shut down the road 10 minutes and 2 miles before our shuttle van reached the train station for our transfer. Our amazing guide/owner, Matt, worked his connections and convinced the train to go 2 miles out of its way to pick us up. So... More

During a recent trip to Alaska, one of the highlights for my husband was to participate in a kayak and glacier walk tour. After a lot of research, we decided on this company since they offered transport to and from Anchorage. In order to ensure availability, he signed up and pre-paid for this event more than 3 months ahead of... More

This was a safety decision. Period. This negative review is completely Ironic, I see this decision as AP staff doing our jobs very well; to take care of our guests.Guest safety and enjoyment is our number one priority, and has been for 20 years. As I said in a private email to this client, we too are disappointed that we... More

We had a great day. My wife was worried about getting in & out of the kayak and the uneven footing on the glacier with her bad knee, but our guide, Beth, was the best at helping her out and carving steps in the ice for better footing with an ice axe. We had a very nice sack lunch on... More
