Dog sledding on top of a glacier...... Amazing experience thanks to the wonderful staff at Alpine air Alaska. The "desk pilots" took good care of us - thank you, ladies! Took a 12 min ride via chopper to the Punchbowl glacier where our guide, Marcus gave us a briefing of the training and effort that goes into the Iditarod race.... More

This excursion was one of the best things my wife and I did on our trip to Alaska. The people on the ground and on the glacier were very knowledgeable which made for a great experience. The dog sledding was a great experience and it was fascinating to see how all lived on the glacier for the summer. We learned... More

The dog sled adventure was by far the best thing we did on our 10-day Alaska trip, including Denali, the gold-star train, and bear viewing excursion! You get lifted by a short helicopter ride (pretty incredible in and of itself) onto a glacier (also freaking awesome) to the summer-long dog sled camp--with actual Iditarod winning / current season training dogs.... An expensive way of experiencing dog sledding in summer of Alaska. With. Their latest helicopter, we flew our way 3000feet up to this glacier place and ready for 1.5 hours experience with dog sledding, playing with puppies. What can I say? Friendly staff, great experience, and must do it at least once when you in Alaska

You pay a ridiculous amount of money to get in a tiny red tin can and fly over a mountain while being buffeted by the wind and snow to be dumped on a freezing cold glacier with 50 barking smelly dogs and a grizzly looking alaskan dog musher that actually lives up there in a tent. And while on the... More

What an experience!! The entire staff at Alpine Air Alaska is phenomenal - kudos Glenda!! From the moment you walk in and until you leave, you are treated with class. They take the care to make sure you are outfitted properly for your trip to Punch Bowl Glacier. They fly you up there in a helicopter and land on the... More

We were pleasantly surprised that the helicopter was designed for the pilot and just the two of us, my wife and I. The pilot took us over several glaciers and then landed on one so we could get out and walk on the glacier. He gave us a glass of glacier water and let us experience being on a glacier.... More

This was one of the best activities we did while in Alaska! I am afraid of heights, but the helicopter ride hardly fazed me and I was sitting in the front seat. When we landed on the glacier there were about 60 dogs in the camp. The dogs seemed to Love to Run. The musher, Marcus, stopped the dogs a... More

I can't think of enough words like awesome, amazing and fabulous for this great experience. We went as a family and we all can't stop talking about it. The helicopter ride was fun and then we landed on the glacier . The musher , Peter , was fun and we learnt about the history of the dogs, the Iditarod and... More

Although it has taken me 2 years to write reviews for things we did in Alaska (we vacationed there in June of 2012), this still stands out as one of the best experiences ever. Let me start by saying that in my everyday life, I am a pretty frugal person. (Yes, I was using the Northern Lights coupon book, but... More
