We thought of taking a plane tour to the glaciers, but after reading many reviews, decided on the helicopter tour with Alpine Air in Girdwood. It might seem pricier at first, but the experiences are incomparable. The helix flies quite low at times, to show close up views. The close up views of the ice formations and the wildlife are... When we booked the dog mushing excursion we were hoping to have a good experience. Well our expectations were met and went beyond what we could have ever imagined. Starting with the helicopter ride to the Punch Bowl Glacier we were treated to blue skies and amazing scenery, especially when we came around the mountain ridge and saw the glacier!... More

This is one of the second times I've been up close to a glacier (glacier national park). This being said I've never touched one! Quite the experience, I've never seen such natural beauty. There are wonderful textures I've only seen in pictures. Our pilot Turner knew all his stuff history, animals, names of everything. The staff in the office are... More

This helicopter tour was an incredible way to see Alaska. Not only were the views outstanding the staff were fabulous. I highly recommend spending the money and going on one of these flights. It truly was the best day ever!

We flew into Anchorage on 8/20/14 and stopped at Alpine Air on the spur of the moment on our way to Seward on 8/21/14. It was a gloriously sunny day with only a few clouds and we figured we ought to take advantage of the beautiful weather. We booked a trip to fly up and land on a glacier. Jared,... More

I don't even know where to begin....This was the most incredible experience we had in the trip of a lifetime to Alaska. We booked our glacier dog sledding experience nearly a year in advance for July 6, 2014. We were staying in Anchorage for 5 days doing day trips on our own before our 11 day Double Denali Land/Cruise package... More

Had a chance to take the Alpine Air Alaska flight seeing tour this Summer in August (2104) and I can't say enough good things about it! The scenery was truly awe inspiring and having the chance to see the glaciers from this perspective was amazing and only to be topped by actually landing on a glacier and having a chance... More

This experience, dog sledding on the glacier, is very unique but also extremely expensive for 1.5 hours. We decided to splurge and hoped it would be the highlight of our trip as it has been for so many of the reviewers. For our family of five it was a once in a lifetime opportunity and unfortunately the weather was horrible... More

Blessed with a beautiful day, we had an absolutely jaw-dropping tour over the Chugach Mountains and nearby glaciers in Prince William Sound. Words cannot do justice to the continuing parade of spectacular sights on this tour. We couldn't land "on" a glacier, but instead landed on a ridge that provided sweeping alpine panoramas in every direction. One of the most... More

Dog sledding on top of a glacier...... Amazing experience thanks to the wonderful staff at Alpine air Alaska. The "desk pilots" took good care of us - thank you, ladies! Took a 12 min ride via chopper to the Punchbowl glacier where our guide, Marcus gave us a briefing of the training and effort that goes into the Iditarod race.... More
