This was one of the best activities we did while in Alaska! I am afraid of heights, but the helicopter ride hardly fazed me and I was sitting in the front seat. When we landed on the glacier there were about 60 dogs in the camp. The dogs seemed to Love to Run. The musher, Marcus, stopped the dogs a... More

I can't think of enough words like awesome, amazing and fabulous for this great experience. We went as a family and we all can't stop talking about it. The helicopter ride was fun and then we landed on the glacier . The musher , Peter , was fun and we learnt about the history of the dogs, the Iditarod and... More

Although it has taken me 2 years to write reviews for things we did in Alaska (we vacationed there in June of 2012), this still stands out as one of the best experiences ever. Let me start by saying that in my everyday life, I am a pretty frugal person. (Yes, I was using the Northern Lights coupon book, but... More

The tour is expensive but really top notch! They provide u with warm clothing, boots and a quick helicopter ride takes u to the punchbowl glacier, their dog sled camp. Learn about the Iditarod race, the huskies, how they run the camp and then u actually get ridden around in a sled for 2+ miles and they save the best... More

After reading the previous reviews of this dogsledding excursions on TripAdvisor, I had very high hopes for this trip...even those were exceeded! The staff was great--from the friendly office staff who answered all my questions beforehand to those at the hangar on the day of our trip who outfitted us to the pilots, and, of course, the awesome mushers up... This was by far the best tour that I have ever done! The staff was friendly and professional. We flew in a helicopter to the top of a glacier and then went dog sledding! You can even play with the dogs and puppies after sledding. I'm so glad that we did this tour towards the end of our trip, because... More

A must do for anybody traveling to Alaska. A short helicopter ride to Punchbowl Glacier where you get to see the dogs and staff waiting for you as you get off the helicopter. Staff was super friendly both at the office and at the Glacier. Worth every penny!!

This was a really wonderful morning. I took my Mom, who is 83 and uses a walker, and she had the best time. Everyone at Alpine Air did everything possible to make her comfortable and included in each step of the way. Mike and Peter were super nice and very informative about mushing and the dogs. We fell in love... More
