We were staying at the Rarotongan Beach Resort and hired a couple of bicycles to peddle around to the gardens. A relatively easy 10k there and 10k back. No problems. Entry to the Gardens is NZ$5 via an honour box. A short walk to a very nice cafe in the grounds is the starting point for a wander through the... More

Beautiful plants and gardens with great hidden locations to sit and ponder in the shade or the sun. The incredible array of ginger flowers is worth the visit alone. A really lovely spot.

We went for dinner and not the garden; it was after dark First impressions were of the lovely ambience; nice wooden tables with unusual patterned table cloths. Second impression was of the abundance of mosquitoes in this lovely garden setting. Entrées were good. They were marinated chicken with rice and I had baby octopus in a delicious sauce. Chef was... These gardens are really lovely, nice pots and sculpture as well as beautiful plants. A lovely place to wander around, they also have a really nice café - you just have to be a bit patient as the service is a bit slow.

We really enjoyed a stroll through these amazing gardens followed by a delightful dinner by torch light. Very good food and something quite different from the usual beach - side experiences. Well worth a visit!

A beautiful garden with a spiritual feel to it. Nicely laid out with a pathway that makes you really feel you are the only ones there. Fascinating variety of local plants and nice touches with small bridges and shelters.

It is a lovely area with nice set garden parts and more original parts looking almost feral. There are ponds and arbours, billowing trees and colourful blossoms. After a relaxing walk we went for cheese- and chocolate-cake in the lovers corner, so fantastic, absolutely delicious! And even better were the fresh fruit shakes which we both had each two of... We came here on a whim, encouraged by the sign promising the yummiest cheesecake on the island, and we werent disappointed!!We also had mains from the dinner meal and the lamb was divine. Its set in tranquil botanical gardens that we explored, and then sat at a table in a raised gazebo in the thick of the gardens, was spectacular!only... More
