We travelled and stayed in Muri in the first week of August 2015 and the wind was so strong every day that we never got to snorkel, swim or experience the lagoon at all while we were in Raro. It was apparently Raro's coldest winter on record and according to lots of people Muri is the windiest side of the... More

We stayed in Muri and spent untold hours in this lagoon. It wasn't quite as impressive after Aitutaki, but still incredibly beautiful. It's a fancy neighborhood--the 'Beverly Hills of Rarotonga and the Cook Islands,' according to Koka's. Muri is a must-see on Raro!

Just beautiful, this is absolute paradise, coral sand, clear Aqua water palm fringed , uninhabited islands waiting to be explored and within swimming or kayaking distance, snorkeling is fantastic , it just does not get better than this!

Just a beautiful place to sit and watch the waves crashing on the reef and the beautiful blue waters of the lagoon...Go snorkelling and watch the abundance of marine life or sit in the glass bottom boat and watch them swim by...Magical place..

This is the busiest part of the island, lots of restaurants and atmosphere. The beach is not the best to swim at as its rocky and windy. Its the colder part of the island and we experienced more rain. If your in Raratonga you have to visit Muri lagoon, its beautiful, although I much prefer Aitutaki Lagoon, you just cant... More

We had a large group with and spent a large part of the day there after hiring paddle boards and kayaks from Captain Tamas.

Good swimming and snorkelling area but too many sea cucumbers for my liking!!! Beware of the trigger fish especially when they are protecting their babies....

One of the most beautiful beaches on Rarotonga. Plenty of restaurants, a few cafes and spots to hire snorkelling gear, stand-up paddle boards or kayaks.
