One of the most beautiful beaches on Rarotonga. Plenty of restaurants, a few cafes and spots to hire snorkelling gear, stand-up paddle boards or kayaks.

A dog adopted me on Rarotonga and we walked together along the ring road to Muri Lagoon. This dog promised me it was heaven on earth and dogs speak only the truth. You can wade, swim, splosh, walk or paddle-board in the water or snooze, sun, or read in sun or shade on the beach. (Be careful with the strong... More

overrun by resorts and tacky tour operators - great if you are into kite surfing - no good for snorkeling

My wife & I took our sons here (10 & 12) during our recent Rarotonga trip. The beach is stunning and the snorkeling was pretty good too. We snorkeled over to the island, looked around and snorkeled back. All very relaxing.

Our first complete day at Rarotonga, we spent it testing the waters so Muri Beach was our selection. The beach area was very popular and we hired a double kayak from Captain Tama's little shop ... the waters weren't as clear as other beaches on the island but the experience was great, there is always something to do at Muri... While in Rarotonga we went to Muri a couple of times, I pleasant and great for watersports, has some nice cafe's and safe swimming. Snorkeling is not the best her and you need to get away from the resort area to enjoy it more.

It always seems very busy compared to other beaches so I don't rank it as one of my favorites. Lots to do though if you want to be entertained.

Compared to other parts of the island the lagoon, although beautiful, is not clear enough for snorkelling. Lots of fun things to do though.

Is it the best part of the lagoon in Rarotonga but pails into insignificance when compared to Aitutaki. People who are writing how good Muri Lagoon is have not gone to Aitutaki. Water is shallow, not very clear and full of sea cucumbers. Corals and fish are limited in varieties, size and extent. Good place to keep young kids or... More

We have been to lots of pacific islands. But this is one of the most beautiful lagoons I have ever seen. Clear water, amazing coral and fish and safe protected swimming. Our villa opened right onto the lagoon just love it.
