We last visited Muri Beach 14 years ago. We were saddened to see with more development that the once pristine lagoon now appears to be polluted. There is algae growth and we were advised not to eat any seafood harvested from the lagoon. At times the shore has a sulfur odor and unfortunately moss/algae washes up on shore. That all... More

If you're looking for heaven on earth, then this lagoon is it! The whitest sand and the most clear blue water! You can snorkel right off the beach here and hire a kayak, it is so peaceful and relaxing just kayaking right out on the lagoon. Gorgeous. There is restaurants along the beach open for lunch/dinner and drinks.

If you're going to Rarotonga the best locations to swim are based on this side in my opinion. It's where the water is at its most amazing and a great wedding location anywhere on this stretch of lagoon

We were told how great this side of the island was but on each of our visits was very disappointing but this was due to weather conditions on each of these visits. Looks beautiful to see but we found the other side of the island better for us to swim, but we were told August/September is windy whether you are... More

The snorkeling is not great here but for a relaxing day at the beach its great. Rented a stand up board and you can go to the outer islands. if you don't want to rent you can walk there at low tide! Best Sunrise Spot

My wife & I have been coming to Raro for the last 14 years, Muri Lagoon is our most favourite location, close to activities ( like Koka Lagoon Cruises) restaurants, night markets, hire car & bike places, shops, hairdressers, doctor. The best spot on the Island!!!

Not nearly as full of colorful fish as in the Caribbean, but a nice lagoon for snorkeling. Can have a bit of current, but the coral is pretty dispersed so you don't risk getting run into it too much. Water temp and visibility is great.

This is a pretty place but full of tourists. Walk or drive a few minutes along the coast road and you'll find gorgeous deserted beaches that are much nicer and all yours!
