Had a great time kayaking out to the islands. Very much like being on a deserted island. Good fish life. Fun place.
Fantastic service fantastic lagoon amazing lagoon just the place to chill out in. went for Dinner and enjoyed the show that was put on that night fantastic food.
we visited here a few times during our time in Rarotonga. it is a Lovely place to go on a Saturday afternoon when the sailing club holds the racing of their various sailing boats. The swimming is good here with many tropical fish swimming around .
We really enjoyed the Muri lagoon - calm waters, gently sloping beach, beautiful setting. There is a mild tidal current that you can use to ride along with - takes you right across the front of the beach & is certainly a lazy man's way of sightseeing! Depending on the tide, you can walk or swim out to the protecting... More
We stayed at Dorothy's Beach Bungalows a 1min walk to lagoon we had the most amazing experience snorkling with the grandkids and you can wade out snorkling while still touching the bottom right out to the Moto so no need for glass bottom boat if on a budget.
My wife and I spent several of our days lounging at the Muri Lagoon. The water is smooth as glass and clear with sandy bottoms. You can snorkel, swim, splash around, read and relax on the beach. The island's mountains overlook the lagoon. There are lots of wonderful dining options at the Muri lagoon.
Muri has changed so much over the years and I try to avoid it as much as possible these days. On the surface the lagoon looks "nice" have you ever wondered about why you see so few locals actually swimming at Muri! You might want to take the time to check out some of the credible reports completed on water... More
Like most stayed on the resort side of the island. Safe swimming and snorkelling o.k. With some very good spots further towards the reef. Went in low season so crowding not a problem. Lovely Pacific Ocean Island.
One upon a time Muri was beautiful clean and defiantly not crowded with hotels and resorts. No where to sit and relax there's too many hotels on the beach side which makes it very dark and shady. What a sad place it is now.
We stayed in Muri and were very glad we did. Very relaxed, but well catered with restaurants and shops. The snorkelling was really good and the water was very clear. Better to head out to the small island (Motu) on the left where the tours go. Not far in front of that island and also to the right of it,... More
