Overall I enjoyed this trip. The walk itself was extremely enjoyable and not too hard for anyone who has done some tramping ("hiking" in some parts) or who is reasonably steady on their feet. The views and terrain was fantastic. The needle is a great feature and it is well worth using the chains to climb up around the edge.... more

Enjoyed the walk as for a tropical island is a little bit of a novalty to go for a 3 hr walk through the peaks that dominate the centre of the island. I disagree with many of the comments above, while my wife and i often do go hiking, the trip wasn't a back breaking affair other reviewers made it... more

My husband and I survived Pa's Cross Island Trek in March 2009. We were looking for a hike on Rarotonga but were advised not to hike on the island alone, because some trails wash out and it's easy to get lost. Overall we're very glad we did the hike, but here are a few things to keep in mind. 1.... more

APRIL 2007 As we started the hike Pa said, "No talking, I need to hear if someone has a heartattack". There was a little commentary as we reached the needle rock but after that all was quiet. The rain was coming down and the hike quickly turned into a forced march through the jungle in pouring rain. No time to... more

PA was our guide on March 23, 2008 when our cruise ship was in port. He took us to his home and introduced the group to the flora and fauna and the medicinal cures from these plants. I truly believe him about the cures these plants can give as I am a believer in "natural" cures and use an herbalist... more

My wife Laurel and I signed up for Pa's cross island trek to the Needle thinking it was the nature tour. I give the experience an above average regardless of the difficulties we encountered during this very demanding trek up a narrow trail and down from the Needle. We were the last two to come off the mountain with Pa... more

My wife and I took an across island walk with Pa on September 17. It is the best thing to do on the island that is not associated with the ocean. Approx. 8am-1.00pm with pick up /return and small numbers. Be prepared for some wet conditions no matter how much you check out the beautiful weather reports as it is... more

I went to the Cook Islands with a 25 person group. We had lots of planned trips and outings and Pa's hiking trip was one that I was a little unsure about but decided to join at the last minute. It was the most rigorous hike I've ever done but it was fabulous. I am not in the best shape... more

Pa is a somewhat interesting but extremely egotistical person, who makes unbelievable health claims about his "medical" plants. He may or may not turn up on the day he says he will (he canceled or failed to show twice for our group). If you can find another guide, do not use Pa. more
