The ‘must do’ day lagoon cruise aboard the 21 meter Polynesian style Vaka Titi ai Tonga.Every morning at 10am Mondays to Saturdays, the sound of the conch shell signals the departure of the Vaka for six hours of lagoon magic. There’s snorkelling, swimming and sunbathing to do before tucking into to an island barbecued lunch of fresh caught ocean fish served on board and accompanied by a full bar service.Visit several motu (small islets) and beach comb at One Foot Island before returning past the old TEAL flying boat base. Impromptu entertainment by the crew will have you tying pareu, weaving coconut leaf plates or humming island tunes. They are always happy to provide snorkelling lessons for first timers.

We booked the Vaka boat tour which was part of a day trip with Air Raro tours trip to Atuituki. We arrived at Atuituki and transferred to the Vaka boat trip. From the time we boarded until we returned we had the most amazing day. The crew were all fantastic with drinks available e for purchase and free tea, coffee... More

If you are looking for a relaxing cruise aboard a beautiful traditional style vessel than this is the cruise for you! A bit of island hopping, a bit of snorkelling, an AMAZING lunch with the best marinated barbecued fresh fish I've had and an entertaining crew who will tell you stories and sing songs along the way. Very peaceful in... More

Had an amazing time on our recent trip on The Vaka Cruise. The crew were friendly and very entertaining, the lagoon was picture perfect and the food was delicious and authentic island fare. Highly recommended, especially if you only have a short time to experience Aitutaki... you won't want to leave though!

We were so so glad we did this Cruise! The whole day was just great. Beautiful clear water with amazing snorkling. Even swam with the GT's!! Our Tour Guide 'Paul' made the trip! He was fantastic. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone that visits Raro and or Aitutaki

I had heard Aitutaki and the lagoon being described as a Paradise and it truly was. We purchased the Aitutaki Day Trip ,including the Vaka Cruise, flying in from Rarotonga. The day was so well organised and went without a hitch. Ali and the crew on the Vaka cruise did an amazing job ( if you can call it a... More

Live island music for the whole trip. Along with stories by Ali and a few little shenanigans. Fabulous warm clear water, snorkelling. Delicious fresh lunch. Exploring the tiny islands. A fabulous day despite the rainy weather.

I went on the day trip from Rarotonga to Aitutaki. Our guide Ali met us at the airport in Raro and was an excellent guide right from the start. He was chatting to people on the plane and giving them information about the Cook Islands. Once in Aitutaki we got onto to an open sided bus and Ali was an... More

This cruise was the highlight of my holiday in the Cook Islands. I couldn't recommend this cruise enough to people who want to explore the lagoon. We visited 3 small islands and went snorkelling off one of the reef areas. The snorkelling was the best snorkelling i have done. The water temperature is so warm and you don't want to... More

it's as beautiful as it sounds and looks! A definite must do if you arent already staying on Aitutaki. We did the cruise as a group of 12 (staying at Raro) so the transfers to the airport and flights over to Aitutaki were all inclusive. The buffet lunch was filled with local cuisines all prepared by the crew (they wake... More
