Owner description: The ‘must do’ day lagoon cruise aboard the 21 meter Polynesian style Vaka Titi ai Tonga.Every morning at 10am Mondays to Saturdays, the sound of the conch shell signals the departure of the Vaka for six hours of lagoon magic. There’s snorkelling, swimming and sunbathing to do before tucking into to an island barbecued lunch of fresh caught ocean fish served on board and accompanied by a full bar service.Visit several motu (small islets) and beach comb at One Foot Island before returning past the old TEAL flying boat base. Impromptu entertainment by the crew will have you tying pareu, weaving coconut leaf plates or humming island tunes. They are always happy to provide snorkelling lessons for first timers.

The cruise is absolutely excellent! Aitutaki in itself is stunning but I am so glad this particular tour was included in the Air Rarotonga day trip! The staff were very entertaining, especially Ali (sorry if it is not spelt correctly but he tells us he is the only one named that on the island!). They were all friendly and accomodating... More

This was the best boat tour on our island adventure. Music and laughter and food were all fantastic. The water was something out of my imagination, just unreal. What an experience in such a magical place! Can't wait to visit again!

Can't say enough about this cruise. The guide Paul was very friendly and funny. We learn't allot from Paul as he told us about the trees and coconuts and some legendary tales. I was so impressed about the hermit crabs being able to carry a coconut and then to climb a tree to drop the coconut to let it fall... More

What an experience! A sublime day from the flight up to Aitutaki to landing back in Rarotonga. This is definitely one for the bucket list! Flight to Aitutaki was fine - 45mins and then coming out of the clouds, the view of the lagoon was instantly recognisable that we were here. Ali was our tour guide slash comedian slash historian... Easy access from Ootu Beach as our accommodation was near.... Perfect conditions and a blue lagoon to match!!! Passengers from NZ joined us fellow kiwis and their entertaining antics made our day!!! To top off the buffet provided was exceptional - as this was the first time I had tasted breadfruit and arrowroot and it was beautiful... Stopped on motus... More

Had a day to spare in Aitutaki and have been on most cruises over the last 20 years so selceted The Vaka for our trip. What a day - the Lagoon as those who have been there will know is just amazing and the colours unbelievable unless you see first hand. The boat has been upgraded recently and it has... More

Ali and the team provided a great day from the time we were welcomed aboard the spacious vessel. We had three different stops to snorkel, swim and admire as well as learning some history and having passports stamped at One Food Island. The lunch was fantastic as was the humorous entertainment during the cruise. A fantastic day that won't be... More

Aitutaki dosent have a surplus of things to do so on our last day we decided to book an activity. we could only afford to do one as everything is so darn e pensive there but finally decided on the Vaka Lagoon Cruiss and so glad we did! We did this as a day trip from Rarotonga and it was worth it. Ali, our guide, was confident and interesting and kept the mood buoyant throughout the day. Cruising the lagoon was amazing- so beautiful your brain struggles to define what you see as real. Our first island stop off was uneventful and brief which was a little disheartening,... More

My sister & I opted for a day trip from Rarotonga. It's a 40 minute flight to Aitutaki & the views were spectacular! We were met upon arrival & taken by 'bus' to a store in town, where we could purchase souvenirs, coffee etc & then on to the lagoon, where we spent a magical day. The boat itself was... More
