If you had to visit a single spot to bear witness to the glory that is Moorea - this IS IT. Weather permitting, you can see both bays at the same time with Mt. Rotui in between. Photo ops galore. If you can, take a 4 WD or ATV tour to Belvedere so you can experience the pineapple fields (which... More

Some of the best views on the island, you get a great look at both the bays from this point. Fantastic for Panoramic shots. Magic Mountain also offers some great vantage points.

If you come to Moorea you have to stop by here. It's a long windy two lane road...thankfully paved but we had to swerve around all the chickens running around. Once you get up there it's worth the drive. Honestly it was a 10 minute drive but windy. The views are amazing as you can see both bays from up... More

Rough dirt road up ...great views once there. Must climb last 200 yards up to get best views. Careful if not fit!

The view here will take your breath away. Rent a car and go! No need for a tour group to get here. Take plenty of pictures because they will be worth hanging on the wall.

This lookout provides a fabulous view of both Oponohu and Cook's Bays. It is also a set off point for several walks of various length in the hinterland. The road to the Belvedere, before it starts its uphill climb through the trees, also provides spectacular views of the mountains. The road itself (from Oponohu Bay) is twisty and narrow with... Amazing view of the Mountains and the Ocean below. Worth a visit to enjoy the views and take some great photos. There is a lookout and parking available. There is is also a store on the way up where you can taste and buy some amazing local jams made by students from the Agricultural School.

Definitely worth going up to this lookout. We rented a car instead of taking a tour. We enjoyed exploring the area with no time constraints.

Worth the time to get up there for a great view but go to Magic Mountain for the very best views. Belvedere lookout can get very crowded on cruise ship days.

We chose to tour the island so we signed up on our cruise ship for a bus tour. The tour included Cook's and Opunohua Bays and of course a stop to see the breathtaking views from Belvedere lookout point. Make sure your camera is in good working order and has a fresh battery so that you can take photos of... More
