Would highly recommend a visit to the beautiful La Basilica de Los Angeles and a look around the town of Cartago. The trip through the Orosi Valley is filled with beautiful scenery of rural Costa Rica.

If you have a day with nothing to do, a great option is to head to cartago to the Orosi valley and especially the lookout, which has free admittance. Here you will be able to admire the views of the whole valley, including the reventazon river

Amazing Views from the Lodge Overlooking the Orosi Valley. The waterfall is stupendous and if your up for a Rugged Hike from the Lodge to the valley the best dog, Christina, not only is your guide... she is your guard as well. I have never met a dog like her before. I fell in love and will never forget her.... More

Picture a valley surrounded by secluded waterfalls, tapirs that run wild, Pumas and colorful birds. That's Orosi Valley and in the center of it you'll see the oldest standing church which is beautifully kept:

Definitely a great location for a Sunday hike. I walked from Cartago to Paraiso, and from Paraiso to Orosi valley. On the way there is a beautiful look out point, and many beautiful scenes. The little town is beautiful, really calm, and just has an amazing atmosphere to relax, sit down in the field in the center and watch life... More

The Orosi valley is beautiful. The mountains are dotted with coffee plants and banana trees along with beautiful colorful foilage. The Rio Macho is beautiful and runs along the valley. The view from Miradia looking down onto the Rio Macho and Orosi is breathtaking.

Some beautiful views in the valley with rapidly flowing waters, lush greenery and interesting cloud cover. This is the side of Costa Rica that triggers all your senses. The bus tour allowed for time to stop along the way to get some great pictures and do a little walking in certain areas. Bring your camera for some unforgettable shots.

The Views were spectacular although the road wasn't very good at some points. We got to see the Dam that they built and how tall it is. You see a reservoir on one side and a vast valley on the other.

It is well worth a drive on very good paved roads through this beautiful valley. The leaves wee a burnt orange in February and it felt like fall leaf time. All green with splashes of orange was delightful. We walked through the La Cumbre Christian Athletic camp along a gorgeous river and we highly recommend that. It is on the... More

I took the tour you can buy through Viatour (part of tripadvisor). Price was competitive and it was quicker with the short time I had in San Jose. The tour was excellent in most respects but let me down with regards to the weather. We could see nothing on top of the volcano due to clouds, which was a real... More
