We spent four hours here and didn't see half the museum...it is huge and the exhibits are very well done. Our kids had an absolute blast, and keep asking to go back. There were so many interesting exhibits, a lot of them Costa Rica-themed. The staff are helpful and happy to speak with the children (most of them are older... More

We've visited here several times. I like going back because I learn something new every time... not to mention my daughter... she loves going. The food is pretty good and also inexpensive. Take soft shoes... there's a lot to see.

It is a small museum, but it has several and very entertaining activities for kids of all ages. It is crowded on the weekends, but it is worth the visit, just the fact that this was a prision and ended up being a place for kids to learn makes it a memorable visit.

It is huge. We kept wondering if it would ever end. Our kids (5 and 3 years) loved it. There are a lot of different exhibitions for the kids and they can interact at a lot of them. For example they can dress up like firefighters or police officer and play in a fire truck and police car. There are... More

This museum needs about three hours and they provide your own university student as a guide. The low cost of admission and amazing service made this a highlight.

We wanted to give our daughter a treat and went straight to this museum in oir first day in San Jose. She spent a great time wondering around. It has a great variety of activities, including a real helicopter, plane, fire truck and train cars. It occupies a former penitentiary so it has added value for the addults. The staff... More

After visiting the zoo, we had a little time to kill and decided to check out this museum with our 4 and 6 year old. What a great surprise! They had such a great time. Just when you thought you had seen everything, you would go into another room and a whole new world would open up! So much to... More

I have been several times as an adult to art exhibitions, music concerts, etc., but I have also gone with my two grandchildren aged 4 and 8 and the loved it. It is a museum where thy can learn, play and be active. They always want to go back again!
