Costa Rica isn't known for its artists but the ones who's works were displayed I was seriously impressed. The room with the relief mural that filled four walls in a large room depicting the history of Costa Rica was beautiful, informative and the best piece of work

If the exhibition programme doesn't scream at you; the architecture will lure you in. Established in an old liqueur factory, MADC is worth a visit no matter what artists are on display. The museum specialises in contemporary Central American art and design, but also shows work from other parts of the world.

I loved the exhibition I saw in August. Very talented artists. Although small it is a great space, high ceilings large rooms. (just need more rooms.) Looking forward to new up and coming artists.

Totally contemporary and a little out there and edgy, this small museum is definitely worth a visit. We were amazed and amused with the variety of offerings. Creativity gets a five star rating. Some of the displays are not recommended for children

There were three artist featured at the museum. The exhibits were not impressive and the staff did little to help you with interpretation. The location was difficult to find and the higher entrance fee for foreigners was insulting. Do not waste your time or money!

There were three exhibits when I visited. The one about Agatha Ruiz de la Parada, a fashion designer, was interesting, since I had never heard of her, but the exhibit seemed more an approach to a loosely fabricated advertising campaign rather than art or design work. The other two seemed to follow an art theme, but the art seemed of... More

Location within walking distance of the traditional city market. The museum had some very unusual exhibits well worth seeing.

If you like contemporary art, it may be worth the $3 entrance fee. We breezed through it very quickly. When we were there, the exhibits were not really suitable for children.
