If you are lucky to have a good wather and it is not foggy, it is a must visit if you are in Costa Rica. More

Went with Expedeciones Tropicales. On time, knowledgeable, and funny. Fewer clouds and it would have been perfect, but we DID see the caldera! More

After talking to others that visited all the volcanoes, all agreed Poas is the best......on a clear day. I lucked out and was able to see the beauty of the crater and lake. More

Its is hard to describe the sensation of being at the board of an active volcano, so you must see by yourself, if you are lucky enough to have good visibility, as this is a very foggy high mountain. Go very early, no later than 8 a.m. and wait long enough if visibility is poor. You may go in the... More

Must go before 10 am for visibility, but very accessible. Paved road right to the edge of the crater. Excellent facilities and spectacular views. More

Close by and convenient ... yet authentic and Costa Rican! Beautiful and engaging. The waterfalls, the active volcano ... everything is beautiful! More

Hi there! This volcano is really worth a visit. You have a wonderful view into the amazing crater, and there's also a second old crater. It's filled now with rain water and very beautiful, too. The paths are paved and you can use a wheelchair there. There's a bus from San José/ Alajuela that takes you up to the volcano... More

We took a trip up to Volcano Poas and throughly enjoyed the experience. It was great to visit and active volcano. When they advise to wear warm clothes, i would follow that advice. It was a nice trip. The drive up was very good, paved roads all the way up and beautiful scenery. More

It's unclear why, but all of the tours combining Poas Volcano reach the place too late in the morning, making the chances against being able to see anything. I got here and all we could see was a white cloud when only half an hour earlier it was clear as day. Best get here early, and it also helps to... More

We went to Volcan Poas as part of a guided Tour and the tour guide was very informative and humorous. Once we got to the Parking Lot he pretty much gave us directions and walked with us to the volcano. We were lucky enough to get there and snap a few pictures before the clouds rolled in and covered the... More
