I first came here in June 2014 and ended up visiting several times between June and September of that same year while I was living in San Jose. The people there were very friendly, always greeting me and complimenting my Spanish. They do sell some touristy items, but you can also find artisans that sell unique souvenirs/gifts. You are allowed... More

A lot of junk and a hard sell. You might want to go but plan on doing something else. Pretty much the same products in every stall.

Fun place to visit. Understand that the prices on items are elevated and priced for tourists. Most of the items you can find here can be purchased much less expensively in the Central Market just a 10 minute walk away.

Pretty typical of a tourist market but they did have some good items for souvenirs. Prices are reasonable and you can bargain a little. It's very small quarters, and just two aisles but still worth a quick visit. If you are looking for something more authentic, you might want to look elsewhere.

We'd already tried the Central Market and the family did not appreciate the smell of uncooked meat and seafood down dark and narrow passageways...so we tried this market instead. We'd just come back from Jaco, and this market offered most of the same things we saw there for a fraction of the cost. Also, this market allows for haggling over... More

This is a good place for souvenirs such as decorations, shirts, hammocks and bags. Every shop owner I've talked to speaks spanish and English. They aren't pushy either and are very friendly.

The market is a bit overwhelming, but if you're looking to pick up a few souvenirs, this is the place. Many stalls carry the same stuff (so shop around and bargain for the best price), but a few stalls have unique art and crafts that are worth checking out. We stopped by after a visit to the Jade - makes... More

There are many Artisans selling their work, and some even working on there art in the market. But, the location is out of the way.
